Re: USB to HDMI adapter using DisplayLink

I tried to mess a bit with xorg.conf a while ago, and if I remember correctly I got some signs of it working but it ended with a messed up desktop. Right now I think I'll go for the wait it out option.

Re: Update Manager Mint 13 fails with Norwegian language

I posted the thread about the problem in Mint 12 and it is still a problem for me in Mint 13 Cinnamon. Using Norwegian language the updatmanager crash, switching to English everything is fine. I can use apt-get to update, but it is more of a problem for Norwegians not that used to Linux (like my dad...

Re: Banshee encountered a fatal error

I encountered this problem as well but fixed it by uninstalling Banshee, then deleting the banshee-1 folder which is in the /home/.config folder and then re-installing banshee again.

USB to HDMI adapter using DisplayLink

I bought a USB to HDMI adapter to connect my Lenovo S10-3t, running Mint 13 Cinnamon, to my TV. The adapter uses DisplayLink drivers and out of the box I get a green screen on my TV. From what I have found by googling that means that the driver is there but that I need to configure my system. The in...

Re: Update manager crash

Hopefully the bug will be fixed soon, since it seems to be the language setting that is the problem. For now I use apt-get.

I have this problem with Mint 12 on my Lenovo 3000 N200. In power settings I can only choose between hibernation and shutting down.

Re: Sometimes freezes when I open Gnome 3 Menu

It can be problems with the MGSE media player extension. I found a solution that worked in a post in this thread: http://forums.linuxmint.com/viewtopic.p ... 69#p516810

You have to install two patches for the media player extension.

Re: System freezes (randomly?)

Hi, I happen to have some of the same problem as yours. I use Mint 12 My desktop will just freeze, and the MATE bottom bar will no longer show any of my open windows, it's just completely empty. I can't do anything, nothing is working except Alt-Ctrl-Backspace, and then I can log back in. I've noti...

Re: Update manager crash

Seems like a found the problem. Both me and "jompa89" are norwegians, and are probably using norwegian language pack. Today I experienced the same problem when I installed LM12 on my EEE mini PC too, but then I switch to english language, and now the update manager works.... Where can I report this...

Re: Sometimes freezes when I open Gnome 3 Menu

The freezes seems to be connected to Banshee in my case. After having Banshee open for a while I cant click anything and not open the Gnome 3 menu. It doesn't freeze when I don't have Banshee open.

I didn't install ant fonts on LMDE while I used that, and I don't know if there are any differences between this in LMDE and Mint 12.

I wanted the mint logo in the hot corner, so I found one in the proper colour and resized it so it fits. I think it looks quite nice :)

Update manager crash

I recently installed Mint 12. When I tried to use the update manager it crashed when I pressed install. I can refresh the list an so forth, but not install. Updating with apt-get in the terminal worked fine, but I would like it to be possible to update through the update manager.

Re: Wine packages missing from Debian repos [SOLVED]

I have some problems with broken packages from wine interfering with my Playonlinux. And every time I try to update my system I get asked to install unmet dependencies, but when I try to do that there is an error. I use the frickel repo for wine. My terminal: jonpeder@jonpeder-laptop ~ $ sudo apt-ge...

Re: Wine packages missing from Debian repos [SOLVED]

Gents, May i propose a simpler solution. 1- go to wineHQ website 2- downloads section 3- Debian ( you will be redirected to sourceforge website 4- you'll find right above all old debian packages the latest RPM package ( just find it on page ) 5- install "alien" and convert it to a .deb file using a...

Re: Wine packages missing from Debian repos [SOLVED]

The latest wine update from the frickelplatz repo broke my wine. Running programs in wine makes my laptop lag, and programs don't work properly any more. Anyone else experiencing this and/or have a solution?

Re: We need more testers to the new incoming repo (how-to)

This might not be a problem but I have a feeling that there is to few updates coming to my system. When I ran apt-get dist-upgrade after two weeks of not updating there was only two updates. Is this right? I got the impression that there would be more updates in the incoming repo.
