Re: Oomox Custom Exported Iconset installation?

They weren't showing up in Appearance though, that was the issue, so I had no way to use them. The icon set is showing up in /.icons, but wasn't showing up in Appearance. That being said, the issue fixed itself after a restart and they are now showing up properly in the Appearance settings...weird t...

[SOLVED] Oomox Custom Exported Iconset installation?

Hi all! I've made a few themes for my personal system that I really like with Oomox and they show up in the Appearance settings options under my Mint 19 MATE install where I can select and use them, no problem...BUT, I am having an issue with the iconsets I export? Despite exporting them, they do no...

Re: Script to re-enable mouse on boot?

Hi all - thanks for all the suggestions, but I managed to solve it. I had been trying (and failing) to update the BIOS as well in the background of the touchpad issue, but hadn't mentioned it to you folks. To do so, I had cloned my Linux install to an external drive and temporarily installed Win7 32...

Re: Script to re-enable mouse on boot?

@all41 - Hi mate, thanks for the reply! I tried what you suggested in the sense that I restarted the laptop (without making the script) and tested the idea. When it got to the desktop, the touchpad didn't work as always, so I used Alt-F2 to start mate-terminal and ran the, in my case xinput set-prop...

[SOLVED] Script to re-enable mouse on boot?

Hi all - not sure if this is even possible as maybe it's a hardware switch, but no harm in asking for help if anybody knows something that might assist me! :) I've got an Acer E1-431 laptop that works perfectly with Mint 19 MATE other than one niggling issue. I do it manually every time, and it's no...

Re: Oh yet, another Linux Mint+mouse scroll wheel thread

I use a generic Motospeed USB wired mouse from DealExtreme on my HP laptop running Mint 19 MATE and have never had any issues with the scroll wheel. My brother has a completely different Acer laptop with a wireless Logitech mouse with no scrollwheel issues running Mint 19 MATE, and mom has an Emachi...

Re: Command line option to specify window size on program launch?

Answered my own question! Some more furious (as in a lot, not as in angry :P) Googling brought me to the answer I required! :) For those interested, this is the command I used: cool-retro-term -geometry 658x435 This set the window to automatically appear at a width of 658 and height of 435 pixels to...

[SOLVED] Command line option to specify window size on program launch?

Hi all - just found Cool Retro Term - awesome program and a worthy and fun companion to the usual MATE Terminal for me on my machines. That being said, Cool-Retro-Term seems to ALWAYS open in a large window. I would prefer it open in a window exactly the same size as my usual MATE Terminal window (w...

Re: Samsung R60 w/ Mint 19 MATE 64-bit - freeze on shutdown?

Sorry for the bump, but does anybody have any ideas for this? Mint does not shut down properly as a result and I've received some errors from having to hard-power-off the machine every time I try and shut it down or restart! (For example, I cannot rename the computer on the network because that requ...

Samsung R60 w/ Mint 19 MATE 64-bit - freeze on shutdown?

Hi all - setting up an older Samsung R60 laptop (Intel Core 2 Duo 1.5ghz, 4GB RAM, 120GB HDD) for an older family member to use so they can do some basic stuff with it. All works fine, but on shutdown or restart, it freezes after 1 or two 'dots' at the Mint logo screen rather than shutting down prop...

Just curious....why do you need to pool the data across the drives for 13TB rather than just having three drives...?

Thanks! Problem is, I assume the next time there is a theme update through the software manager, my fixes will be overwritten again?

Your fix worked a treat though!

Re: Caja / dark theme issues - invisible text cursor?

Nope, color of the text background when renaming, etc doesn't matter to me as long as I can see the cursor!

Where would I find the theme files to edit them?

Re: Bluetooth killing WiFi...?

Has changing the channel on the WiFi router made a difference? :?: Appreciate your mention of LinSSID; I was looking for something like that. It would be helpful to see what card you have; the output of Terminal command inxi -n will show this. In case your card and router support 5GHz, you could us...

Caja / dark theme issues - invisible text cursor?

Hi all - I've noticed with almost every dark theme, the text cursor is almost completely invisible in Caja when doing things like renaming files or naming new folders. I've seen the same issue on many different dark themes...Mint Dark-Y, Adwaita-Dark, Arc-Dark, Adapta-Nokto, Pop-Dark, Ultimate-Dark....

Re: Bluetooth killing WiFi...?

Hey, Actually haven't had a chance to check yet, but the speaker system is sitting in my living room on the floor for me to set back up again when I get a chance. No 5ghz support sadly. Re: Bluetooth killing WiFi...?

I use LinSSID to show me other networks in the area, but I am in a semi-rural area, so there ARE no other networks but my own. The odd issue is Bluetooth killing my WiFi, not other networks interfering....LinSSID doesn't seem to pick up Bluetooth connections though.

Re: Bluetooth killing WiFi...?

Huh - didn't know they operated on the same frequencies. I had the router set to Channel 10, will switch it to Channel 1 and see if the issue persists.

Bluetooth killing WiFi...?

Hi all - I have an odd problem with my laptop that I just found out about last night. I was given a Samsung HW-K360 sound system from a friend which is Bluetooth capable. I have an HP Pavilion TouchSmart 14 running Linux Mint 19 64-bit MATE that has Bluetooth. Connecting up to the Samsung system is ...
