Some of us just don't like squinting and straining to read minty-green text on an all white background.

Re: Amazon Prime video won't play in Firefox

Amazon Prime video works perfectly for me in LM 19.1 and Firefox 66.0. It has also worked in previous versions of LM and Firefox. I think you need to carefully check your settings. In Preferences you need DRM enabled and in Addons>Plugins set Widevine to Always Active.

[Solved] MATE Sensors Applet

Most of the sensors are obvious by their names but I have one called Package ID 0. What is this?

Re: Can't Play Amazon Video In Linux Browsers

Firefox 65 plays Amazon Prime Video perfectly for me.
Check these Firefox settings:

Preferences>General: Play DRM-controlled content - enabled
Plugins: Widevine Content Decryption Module - set to Always Activate.

Re: How to install WINE on mate 19.0

Note that Wine is a risk: https://easylinuxtipsproject.blogspot.com/p/wine.html A risk you might be willing to take nevertheless, but you need to realize what it means for your security. This depends on what Wine is used for. If none of the programs running on Wine connect to the internet where is ...

[Solved] xbrlapi zombie process

System monitor on one of my machines shows a zombie process: xbrlapi. Can anyone suggest what this is a remnant of? I assume this is a program not cleaning up properly.

I solved the issue this way: Created new file /home/[my user name]/.chromium-browser.init with this content: # Options to pass to chromium-browser CHROMIUM_FLAGS="--password-store=basic" Warning: use of this means any passwords will be saved in plain text - not an issue if no important passwords are...

@catweazel Sorry. I thought it was related to the topic and specifically JoeFootball's reply. I was seeking clarification for those of us with AltGr rather than Alt on the right side of the keyboard.

Re: unable to shutdown

As an alternate option, hold down Alt + SysRq , and type r e i s u o , waiting a second or two between keystrokes. This will (usually) shutdown your computer cleanly, and preserve your file system. More info here and here . Joe My keyboard has a left Alt key and on the right is an AltGr key. Alt an...

I received it too yesterday but it was blocked by my provider's spam filter. Re: 20 Firefox windows open upon startup!

Check in System Monitor>Processes and see if firefox is listed. If it is listed highlight firefox, right click, and select End Process (or Kill Process if that does not work.) Then try restarting firefox.

Re: DPI too large - unable to fix

Thanks for your suggestions Helmut and JosephM. I was unable to move the window with the touchpad on my laptop. I think this only works with a mouse. Too late to try now I have done a new install. You suggestions may well have worked if I had fitted a mouse to the laptop. I will mark this as Solved.
