Since this thread came up on a google search, if you don't see the green screen with modern kernels, you'll want to run sudo modprobe udl if you do see the green screen, you should be able to see the monitor in arandr or some similar monitor layout tool after running something like: xrandr --setprov...

yeah, i thought it would be funnier to take the swine flu comment seriously. i did email clem and offer to submit to changes to git myself, but I gather they're pretty busy these days with the ubuntu exodus.

if you switch to the new repos, you should see far less breakage as packages are now being vetted by the mint team before being pushed to users instead of coming straight from debian.

the last patch i submitted took around a month, but i can't tell you anything for sure. the changes in the attached package amount to about 3 lines of total code, fwiw.

understand what's attached is NOT an approved mint package. use at your own risk (and please install the official package when it comes out). though this generally doesn't seem like good practice, backing up and restoring your files is so crucial that waiting for the changes to make it in might not ...

patch submitted. seems to work for package save and restore and satisfies all the api changes according to the python-apt migration tool.

thunar can also connect samba shares directly if you know the full address, just choose "Go" -> "Open Location..." and in the box type something like smb://ip-address/sharename

this is related to the LMDE bugs after upgrading to python-apt-0.8.0. I've opened bug https://bugs.launchpad.net/linuxmint/+bug/829743 to track it and am working on a patch now.

Hello, I've done audio stuff for years in the mac world and have toyed with doing projects on Linux. Ardour is a very capable sequencer, though like many is not always super intuitive. It can very easily handling the types of tracking that you would throw at pro-tools or most other sequencers, IMHO....

This bug fix has been released, so if you're fully up to date, you should not need to apply the patch. Please update mintBackup and update if you're still having problems.
