Re: HELP accidentally overwrite autostart file
Use a text editor to create a file: @lxpanel --profile LXDE @pcmanfm --desktop --profile LXDE @xscreensaver -no-splash Name it autostart and put it (as root) into /etc/xdg/lxsession/LXDE . You will have to create (sudo mkdir) first any of the directories in this address that you removed. If you cann...

This recipe,http://lxlinux.com/remastersys.html, works fine for me - have copied several different Debian-based systems with it.

Re: How Can I install Remastersys???? (NOT INSTALLING)
Remastersys is an Ubuntu app and does not function well with other Debian-based distros. However, number (9) in http://lxlinux.com/debian.html
is a recipe that generally worked for LMDE back when I used LMDE. I have not used it for recent versions.

To edit directories in your home directory and to re-establish the correct Desktop, edit ~/.config/user-dirs.dirs.

Re: Beginners Guide Setting Up Mint LXDE
Wbar is a simple and highly customizable quick-launch dock that adds a little dimension and color to an LXDE or Openbox desktop without adding much additional weight or being gaudy. I have recently added a Wbar section to http://lxlinux.com showing some pictures and a recipe for setting up Wbar on a...

Re: Beginners Guide Setting Up Mint LXDE
I have updated http://lxlinux.com/openbox.html with some nice scripts for Weather, Recent Files, Deirectories, Devices and Conky. All of these have been copied from the new Sparky Linux distribution. They should work in any Openbox Window Manager, 3.50 or later.

Re: Where are volume control settings stored?
A strictly volume control applet can be added to lxpanel (rt. click panel>add-remove). For more audio controls, instal pavucontrol. See http://lxlinux.com/#15.

Re: Web Page Editor
Gwrite works well, but it is a WSIWYG editor and codifies images. I don't use it seriously. I'm married to araneae - http://lxlinux.com/araneae.html. It's small and infinitely configurable, but requires wine to launch.

Re: The unofficial LMDE Xfce UP6 SR1
Have successfully installed LXDE over the unofficial LMDE Xfce UP6 SR1: http://lxlinux.com/debian.html.
Faster than LXDE on the official LMDE Xfce. Everything - wine, skype, wireless, printing, etc - worked out of the box.
Thanks, schoelje.

Re: How stable is LMDE?
May want to try 'Sparky Linux' its a LXDE debian based on testing (directly) . Have you tried Sparky? Seems quite recent. I tried Siduction twice, but it created more work on just getting the basics to work than I thought it was worth. Kind of the same for Semplice, although I never got to installi...

Re: file manager text size
If you are using Mint LXDE, then your file manager is likely pcmanfm, whose configuration, including font size, can be edited in ~/.config/pcmanfm/LXDE/pcmanfm.conf .

Re: How stable is LMDE?
I run on several laptops aftermarket LXDE on LMDE since Update 4. Updates 5 and 6 went well - only change that I noticed was the replacement of abiword-gnumeric with libre-office. Upgrade-system works great for cleaning out the orphans. Now that Mint won't be issuing any more updates for LMDE xfce, ...
