My guess is it's probably just related to the repositories catching up to stable release...not sure. But for now, just point to the main repository and it will work fine.

Bluetooth adapter not found [SOLVED]
I'm posting this here just in case anyone else runs into the same problem I had with getting bluetooth to work. I installed Mint 18.2 on my Alienware 17R2 laptop. When clicking Bluetooth under System Settings, I was getting bluetooth adapter not found. Output from dmesg showed [ 5.402128] Bluetooth:...

Re: Install Windows 8.1 with d3d support (NVIDIA card)
So, am I to understand that this will allow me to play DirectX 11 games in a VM?
If so, you have made my day.

I don't think there is much point in installing them unless you need something that the update provides, like better hardware support.

Re: Linux Mint 17 RC - Double GPU: Intel + Nvidia - Howto?
I don't see the nvidia module loading. I know I've had problems before using driver manager. You should try installing the driver from command line.
Code: Select all
sudo apt-get install nvidia-331 nvidia-settings-331

Re: Greeter application appears to be crashing
New problem just popped up today. Every time I click on the menu, my desktop freezes. As long as I don't click on that I'm fine but I confirmed now after continuous reboots that it keeps happening. Only change I've made is the fix I applied for the greeter issue.

Re: Greeter application appears to be crashing
Hi, This was really hard to troubleshoot. We found that the cause of the problem was a segmentation fault in webkit (the HTML rendering engine used by MDM) affecting predominantly users of nVidia drivers. Ubuntu/Mint use an old version of libwebkitgtk-1.0-0 (1.10.2). Upgrading to a newer version (2...

Re: No Netflix Desktop
I just tried that out. With compositing disabled, netflix gives error telling me I have to enable compositing. With it enabled I have the problem of sound and no video with silverlight crashing. I should add that it initially worked fine in Mint 15 KDE RC until a bunch of updates came through and th...

No Netflix Desktop
I cannot get netflix desktop to work under Mint 15 KDE. (Works fine in Mint 15 Cinnamon)
Is anyone out there able to successfully use this?
Booting Windows just to watch netflix is a PITA...so really hoping for a solution.

Re: Greeter application appears to be crashing
I'm asking if it's only the html rendering engine in MDM that's unstable. With no responses on the bug report page I would be very surprised if you got any dev answer here on the underlying details of the issue. But since switching to GDM in MInt really means it's still using MDM with GDM themes an...

Re: Greeter application appears to be crashing
I don't follow...switching to GDM is something other than HTML? So what are you asking?aloysius wrote:That wasn't really the question...sloan wrote:aloysius wrote:Same here: can this be solved by switching to a theme other than html?
Yes, just use GDM and you should be fine.
