Re: Printer enable

It has been listed as the default printer, but I still have to enable it each time I turn the printer on. Maybe I have to do something as Root?

Re: Printer enable

The printer is accepting. I am using Linux Mint 9 Isadora. I'm surprised no one told just to hover the mouse over the menu button and the name would come up. I have a Epson Artisan 710 printer. When I boot up and then try to print something, nothing happens. I have to go into the control center, har...

Re: Printer enable

I thought that it would be obvious that I was using Linux Mint since I was posting in a Linux mint forum. I don't know how to find the version or desktop environment. I changed my computer to Linux mint a few months ago. Wouldn't it be obvious with the question. If you have to enable the printer eac...

Printer enable

Everytime I boot up, I have to first enable the printer before I can use it. Is there a way to set it so that it is enabled on boot up?

Re: What to do with Hidden Partition

I don't think you understand. The computer did not come with recovery disk. It only has a hidden recovery partition. It does not allow you to make recovery disk. And the shrink feature as I said above does not work because of the hidden partition.

Re: What to do with Hidden Partition

I have 259 GB of free space. Is there a 3rd party tool that will partition the main drive and not lose the recovery drive?

What to do with Hidden Partition

i am trying to install Linux Mint on a HP computer. The problem is that there is a hidden "recovery" partition on the HP computer. When I go into disc management, it won't allow me to shrink the Vista partition. I tried defrag and it showed there was space while defragging, but when defrag ended, th...

Re: Lost Minimized Windows

I found the answer. Right click on the Task Bar and choose Add to Panel. Then add Windows List. Thanks.

Lost Minimized Windows

When I minimize a window on the desktop, it disappears. It does not show up in the task bar. I really don't know how to phrase this to search for it on this forum, so I apologize if it has been answered before.

Re: Sansa Fuze

This is the line in lsusb
Bus 001 Device 007: ID 0781:74c0 SanDisk Corp. Sansa Fuze (mtp)
It is set to automatic for mtp/msc. Is there a line I could use to mount it?

Sansa Fuze

What happened with Linux MInt Helena and the Sansa Fuze. In Linux Mint 7, I just plugged in the Sansa Fuze and it was immediately recognized, mounted and I could drag and drop mp3 files. In Linux MInt Gloria 8, the Sansa Fuze is not recognized, and I can't find it or drag and drop.

Re: Weather

There is nothing with a right click about being docked. I gave up and let it stay in the upper Left corner and moved the icons. I hope they stay.

Re: Weather

I found out how to get Weather Bug to load each time. In the control panel, under Start Up Applications and then the tab Options, there is a choice to "Remember Currently Running Applications." The problem now is that when it starts up, it is right over the icons for the Home and Computer. I would l...

Re: Weather

I was able to get Weather Bug working from Google Gadgets. But the next time I booted up, it did not start. What do you have to do to get it start when you boot up. I like the choices it gives you for your weather. Thanks for the help. :D

Re: Weather

Solved, kind of. Using Google Gadgets allowed me to get a weather app running. But, I would like to learn Linux and I would like to know how to get something like Clear Weather from Gnome-Look.org running. I did download it, but I can't get it to run. I think I also extracted it.

Weather

I have tried to install several weather apps: Screenlets, Kweather, Gnome-Look and can not figure out how to get any of them to run. How do I get a weather app to run as a small window on the desktop?
