Re: LMDE5

I think you missed the point. I was referring to the fact that LMDE is not dependent on Ubuntu. Just playing devil's advocate here, but by that logic, couldn't Mint just take ALL of Ubuntu packages in the event that Ubuntu went away and continue development on top of then current packages? Wouldn't...

There is no Ubuntu in LMDE.
There is Ubuntu in LMDE, they just copied the packages they needed instead of using the entire repository. Its just a few packages, but they are there.

Cinnamon Screensaver Bug & Suggestion

Bug: When setting a large font in the Cinnamon Screensaver the text gets chopped off. Suggestions: When setting the text to not float around the screen, can you add the option to choose the location? I.E. center of the screen. Can you add the option to set the background and text color for the scree...

Mint-To-Go "Universal USB" packages

One of the many advantages to Linux is that you can install it on a USB drive, this is great but it has its limitations. If you install it to a USB on one system it may not work on another due to hardware differences. This can be worked around by creating a Live USB with persistence but this limits ...

Re: Linux Mint Debian 201204 RC (MATE/Cinnamon & Xfce) relea

Where are the Mint Gnome Shell Extensions? It is great the Mint held off on the latest update until MATE and Cinnamon where ready, but the Mint Gnome Shell Extensions should have been included as well. Can someone post instructions on how to add the Mint Gnome Shell Extensions to LMDE? I searched in...

KMyMoney 4.6

KMyMoney 4.6 is now in the ubuntu software repositories.

Can we get it tested\compiled and added to the LMDE software repositories?
It's supposed to be a fairly significant update.

Thanks,
John

Linux Mint Debian should be Linux Mint Desktop

I don't know how many of the users here have been using linux long enough to remember Ximian Desktop but I think maybe this would be a good approach for the Mint Team to use for the Mint Debian Edition. This would take some of the work load off, as updated releases would not be necessary. (And users...

Re: Theming brainstorm for LMDE

I'm working on two blue themes, the first is just the default theme with all the green changed to blue. The second is a bit more blue, although I'm not quite happy with the colors right now. Here's what it looks like now. http://dl.dropbox.com/u/26090332/Pepper-Mint2-Screenshot-1.png http://dl.dropb...

Re: Theming brainstorm for LMDE

I would like to suggest a blue theme for LMDE.
As Debian is blue themed by default, the LMDE should stick with that.
Call it PepperMint :-) (the theme, not the release)
