Re: How to donate without PayPal? SOLVED

Just now tried to send in another donation to Mint, and ran into this snag with Paypal. Last year, I had a miserable time-consuming problem getting out of PayPal after they refused my entry based on incorrect security questions. I KNOW my first dog's name was Pal. You can't communicate with them if ...

Re: One mirrored monitor won't reconnect after powered down.

Just downloaded and ran the Mint 13 Live DVD and both monitors were picked up by Display and mirror and work perfectly. The Mint 18, and Mint 17 live DVD's both force me to maintain power on both monitors to maintain video connection. I can restore the connection after monitor powerup by selecting t...

One mirrored monitor won't reconnect after powered down.

With the understanding I have, and the sources available on the boards, I am not able to figure this out. It seems like it is close to some topics, but I can't get this to work. I have two monitors both 1920x1080, and if I turn on the monitors and then power up the Linux 17.2 xfce desktop, there is ...

Re: Logitech K270 Wireless Keyboard - No User log in

Since both Desktops have the same response to the keyboard, Mint 13 could be the problem. The md5sum rang out ok so apparently no errors in the DVD copy. I installed Mint 17 ( I didn't have the wireless keyboard then)to find the included video driver didn't like my monitor - if the monitor powered d...

Re: Logitech K270 Wireless Keyboard - No User log in

I just installed lightdm for the login routine, and it showed no difference from mdm. Still requires two keyboards to login.
Are we giving up? I have a sneaking suspicion that someone out there has had the same weird thing happen....wish there was a better way to find them, if they exist. :(

Re: Logitech K270 Wireless Keyboard - No User log in

Looks like I've hit a dead end. I tried all of your suggestions kyphi, all41, and vidtek. Salaar works great, and I disconnected individually the mouse and then the keyboard and then reconnected, but no difference.
Thank you.

Re: Logitech K270 Wireless Keyboard - No User log in

I ran this info on the wireless keyboard interface. I am using Spanish keyboards, if that is useful info. Device: ID 046d:c52b Logitech, Inc. Unifying Receiver Couldn't open device, some information will be missing Device Descriptor: bLength 18 bDescriptorType 1 bcdUSB 2.00 bDeviceClass 0 (Defined a...

Re: Logitech K270 Wireless Keyboard - No User log in

Hi jsalpha2, I just finished another round of tries and disabled Legacy which didn't correct the problem, and then put it on Automatic Legacy, which didn't do anything either. There is one more piece of info - the wireless keyboard won't initiate BIOS settings, ie., F2 or del doesn't bring up BIOS s...

Re: Logitech K270 Wireless Keyboard - No User log in

I've got the USB transceiver plugged into the front and the keyboard is about a foot or so from the transceiver. Good idea, but got that one covered. All41, yes I did try the numlock, but was rejected because there are numbers in my password, and didn't show any difference. For example I would type ...

Logitech K270 Wireless Keyboard - No User log in

Just bought this wireless keyboard, and it works fine on both of my Mint 13 xfce desktops, EXCEPT I can't User log in. On both computers I left the old wired keyboard connected and found I can log in as usual with the old keyboard, but when i try to login with the new keyboard, I get an error saying...

Re: LM13 xfce install problem (Solved)

Thanks for your idea. Assuming that you are referring to "leftovers" is LM13, it is an LTS that will have support for quite a while. I did install LM17, but had a significant monitor incompatibility problem with it that I couldn't find solutions for, so I went back and reinstalled LM13, which is wor...

LM13 xfce install problem

Hello, I just installed LM13 successfully, with one exception that I can find. After the install from the DVD, I did an update and then upgrade, and it installed xfce 4.10. After the upgrade and a successful reboot, I installed xfce-goodies. I didn't notice that xfce-goodies in synaptic was 4.8.2. I...

Thanks xenopeek, like your name. :)

No, I tried for a few days to figure out the problems and don't have the knowledge to pursue it further. I'll just reinstall mint 13. Exfat reading and new distro version got me excited. I need to be more conservative.

Can I install 3.2.0-23.36 kernel into Mint 17 xfce?

I have a couple of things that don't work in Mint 17 (no one responded to my questions for solutions), but worked fine in Mint 13. Or would it be preferable to just go back and reinstall Mint 13? If I can install a retro kernel into Mint 17, can someone tell me the depository to add to my software s...
