(Realtek) SD card reader not recognosing sd card any logger
Good evening. I am at a loss at the moment because very much all of a sudden my sd card rader refuses to work. I have heard of realtek problems apparently, but I have had this laptop with linux mint 17 cinnamon 64 bit for over 1 year and havent had any problem s(interestingly enough I never had a wo...

Re: microphone and skype
up vote 1 down vote http://unix.stackexchange.com/questions/168200/fix-skype-audio-input-in-mint-17-cinnamon SkypeTroubleshooting article in Ubuntu's Help Wiki solved the issue very neatly. I used the "older Ubuntu versions" instructions. Skype has been known to mess up the mixer settings....

Re: What do you not like about Cinnamon?
well I for example just don;t like xfce. I havent got mint on my pc (the old and slow one) I have got lubuntu on there which is fine, but this laptop is newer so it is not sluggish at all, it is behaving pretty quick :), In any case I have found that gnome colour chooser works for the things I wante...

Re: What do you not like about Cinnamon?
Cinnamon looks great, although I am missing the scroll bar arrows. also there does not seem to be an obvious way to edit a theme yourself. It's not Windows, you are not more or less stuck with the default theme - you can choose from hundreds of window/gtk themes, and I believe most of them have scr...

Re: Adding scroll bar `up' and `down' arrows in LM 13
They would be handy if you are using the laptop from further away- where the keyboard isnt immediately accessible. Seems quite a rare situation. Being too far from the keyboard but yet being able to read the screen. Anyway, most mice have scrollwheels. yea maybe you should check your eyes then :P. ...

Re: Adding scroll bar `up' and `down' arrows in LM 13
I also think it is pretty strange. Mint isnt even a mobile distro so why remove them? using the scroll bar is a bit inexact if you only want to scroll a bit.

Re: Wireless transition from Gnome to LXDE
I may try that although ndiswrapper (windows wireless drivers) was already on the distro when I installed it. (Which is good because I haven't got a lan cable available for the computer(or rather there is no socket in this room)

Re: Wireless transition from Gnome to LXDE
Sorry Technogeek, but both are b000. 800 is the audio port for both. If it's only LXDE that fails, I guess there's some bit or byte corrupted during download / burning the disc. Is the md5sum OK? Does the disc integrity check report any problems? If the md5sum is OK, I'd suggest burning the ISO aga...

Re: Wireless transition from Gnome to LXDE
I don't seem to be able to get hold of the file. All I can do is extract them but I can't find them in nautilus and I can't use the extracted files in terminals either.
