Re: HandBrake Compile & Install
thank you all for your replies. I have since updated the repo's & installed updated pack 3. However the reason I want to compile and not just install from the repo's is so it's custom to my specific machine. I've always compiled HandBrake and had no issues until now. Now after updating repos and...

Re: Update Pack 3 Released! Update Information
@proxima_centauri a big thank you for your help.
With your sticky of the Update Pack Info I was able to do what needed to be done and change the repo's to the correct
locations and finally have my updates coming through without Update Manager screaming at me

Re: Jumping Winblows to install Linux
I would suggest Windows First!
As for VirtualBox not all Windows games are able to be run through Virtualisation, most Windows games still require DirectX 9 this is not supported in VirtualBox.

Re: Can't update LMDE
My understanding and forgive me if I'm wrong but if you entered the following: sudo apt-get upgrade this will upgrade packages that need upgrading sudo apt-get dist-upgrade this will upgrade you to the next distro for example you might be using Debian 5.0 (lenny), if you enter sudo apt-get dist-upgr...

Re: Nautilus NOT handling locations.
@altair4 thank you very much this seems to have fixed it, not sure how it broke to begin with. Maybe you either don't have fuse installed or you are not a member of the fuse group: sudo apt-get install gvfs-fuse Then add yourself to the fuse group: sudo gpasswd -a your-user-name fuse Unfortunately y...

These links I'm referring to have been on my desktop since the initial install! Linux is NOT Windows ! You want to add a...

Re: java
Just to check if you have Java Installed go to http://java.com/en/download/installed.jsp click verify java version. If you have the most recent up to date version it will say Congratulations! You have the recommended Java installed (Version 6 Update 26). If you have no java installed it will tell you!
