With an ssd and fresh install you'll be in gloryland with Xfce on that dual core
It's not my computer. If it were, I would have an SSD. On all of my devices I use an SSD myself

Re: please tell me if this computer is good enough for cinnamon, or whether I should use MATE or XFCE

I installed cinnamon on the computer. It isn't mine. If the owner's not happy with speed, I can install xfce. But you know what? The comp comes with windows 10

Re: I'm listening to a one-sentence audio clip but can't make out a word or two. Please lend your ear

Ah I think you're right! Based on the context it makes sense. And it's a word that the speaker has used before.

So it's just the speaker's accent

Re: I'm listening to a one-sentence audio clip but can't make out a word or two. Please lend your ear

I listened several times, and I think it's a language slip-up, as it sounds like they're not a native English speaker. It sounds like what the other's above have suggested, but it could mean "buddy" (a partner in a project?). The "for your own body" might've been an attempt at e...

t42 and maxwell,
thanks for lending your ears. In context, though, "own body" doesn't make sense. Hmmm...

So I'll tell my mom not to worry about getting hacked. I will also tell my mom just to stick to the regular websites. And she should be okay.

how easy is it to get your Android phone hacked? My mom sent me an article and I wonder what you guys all think about it

My mom sent me a link to this article https://brightlifestyle.org/android-incredible-new-app-intl-ub1/ I've never heard of this app before and did not think I would need to install it myself. What do you guys think? Are the concerns raised by the article about getting hacked on your phone valid? If ...

Thanks, Jeff. I appreciate this helpful information. I've made the change in that place you instructed. Now there's no need to mess with the terminal. :)

Re: minimum USB thumb drive size to install Vanessa Cinnamon onto computer?

Hi all41

What I want to do is to use a thumb drive as the medium to install Linux mint on a desktop / laptop computer. I hope that answers your question.

Are you saying that a 2 GB or 3 GB thumb drive will not work for my mission?

Re: Help me find under-$5 wired earbuds

You can buy from the UK amazon, they will ship it globally via their own planes and trucks. I buy from Amazon US sometimes (obviously not free shipping). Strange that neither Betron or Fencat come up on the US site though. I bet the shipping fee from UK will kill the deal. I don't mind buying from ...

Fencat seems to be what they are in the US, they are sold as Betron in the UK. Again, this goes back to Android or Apple because these are for Android.
I searched for "fencat" in amazon.com but no hits.
