Re: Double volume icons in Mate 20.1?
OOPS ... Mint default panel just works and is fine for me. Click-Click and done.
The OP, somelurker, may have a default panel too ya know. Maybe you're a special case.
... but your experience is well worth mentioning and I wasn't aware my easy solution might negatively affect some.

Re: Double volume icons in Mate 20.1?
Happens from time to time. Usually seems to be associated with some tweak I made or a system update of some sort. Only happens after a system restart. I hardly ever power down, so might happen occasionally on power up ... dunno. Seems to have been happening now and then for a couple of mint distro r...

Re: Why can't I disable System Reports?
Nope, once removed from Startup Applications and restart, System Reports does not appear in the system tray. I don't see it in System Monitor > (All) Processes either ... at least not listed as "System Reports" or by the command "mintreport-tray" anyway. Guess it's just an anomal...

Re: Linux Mint 20.1 “Ulyssa” MATE – BETA Release
Maybe I misunderstand the meaning of "bug" but I don't think personal opinions of what should be or shouldn't be Mint is a bug. Admittedly I did not watch the entire hour and a half video and skipped around for about 5 minutes but I didn't see any mention of a bug. ... Maybe nothing about ...

Re: Touchpad not working on Dell XPS
Someone with more experience than myself and know what they're talking about will chime in. Interesting that the touchpad works from live usb but not otherwise. Maybe boot USB and run a terminal command to check and see what touchpad drive is being used when boot from USB, then run a terminal comman...

Re: "system-config-samba" GUI not available. Need Samba share Help
Thanks altair4 !!! :) I have NO idea which SMB Sonos is. Alls I can tell you is that with Mint Mate 19.3 I had everything working flawlessly. Sonos ... Samba ... shared Music in my home folder. Sonos does not have a controller app for Linux nor intends to develop one. I've been using an unoffical-so...

[SOLVED] "system-config-samba" GUI not available. Need Samba share Help
Hi ... Linux Mint 20 MATE I have Sonos wireless speakers and home sound system. In Mint 19.3 I used Samba to share the Music folder found in my Mint home folder, to Sonos Music Library. I have over 7,000 songs stored locally in my Mint Music folder. In order to set the share up, I used "system-...

Hello Karl my complaint is that there isn't an add button to add any other search engine but just one to remove it and the link to the webpage I have already mentioned in the post https://pasteboard.co/J4oO3TV.png Dude, scroll down to the bottom of the page YOU linked and find "OTHER ENGINES&q...

19.3 Running Cooler Than Previous Releases?
I've noticed my desktop with 19.3 Mate seems to run up to about 10 degrees cooler than previous releases. Wondering if anyone else is having this experience? I can't really say all things are equal with the various releases because maybe it's the time of year or maybe the setup and something tweaked...

Re: Mate vs Cinnamon
Stick with Cinnamon then. I prefer Mate. Tried Cinnamon a couple of times over the years but been a good long while. Cinnamon just wasn't as stable as Mate was for me at the time. Besides, I came from XP and Mate seemed to be a great replacement. Maybe Mate doesn't "glitter and pop", maybe...

There is no boot from USB option. The Bios does not allow me to pick a boot option. Enter UEFI (BIOS) through pressing ESC. In 'Boot' tab: 'Disable Fastboot'. Press F10 to save & exit. Immediately press ESC again and in 'Boot' tab: your USB drive should be listed - change the order. Press F10 t...
