[SOLVED]Method driver /usr/lin/apt/methods/git could not...

Hi everyone, I'm running LM11 Katya on my lenovo laptop and am very happy with it. Recently I bumped into the problem that I tried to 'apt update', and it told me: E: The method driver /usr/lin/apt/methods/git could not be found. I think I may have changed something in my software sources that could...

Re: Linux Mint 11 - Can't get any drivers for GMA4500 to wor

Woops! I don't know how that got there, but I removed nivida-common nvidia-current and one more nvidia related package and that seems to have solved most of my problems. Most noticably, Compiz will work again! :D One strange thing with Compiz is that if I run compiz-check, it still tells me I can't ...

Linux Mint 11 - Can't get any drivers for GMA4500 to work

Hello everyone, I have a Lenovo Thinkpad Edge 15, with the intel GMA4500HD embedded graphics chip. At some point, it seems that my proper drivers stopped working which resulted in reduced performance and Compiz Fusion window manager (whose effcts and features I find very useful) failing to function....

Re: Changing Compiz Fusion settings does nothing

I think I may have found the problem. Though at first compiz did work on my laptop, it has serious trouble and has reverted to Metacity, even though it says it's still running Compiz. The solution to this is to install and use Envy to install proprietary drivers. That should solve my troubles. So I ...

Command for searching through installed programs

Hello everyone, I'm new to Linux, installed Mint yesterday. So far, I must say I really like it. I like the many options I have, the interface looks nice, and it's a lot faster than my windows 7. I discovered the 'apt' command in terminal. With it, I can install and remove programs, or search for pr...
