Re: Release: Linux Mint 10 RC

Congratulations on the RC release. Looks really smooth! I'm not the adventurous type anymore, so I think I will wait for the final, but I am sure it will be fabulous again.

Re: Linux Mint 7 "Gloria" x64 released!

Congratulations to Clem and the team! Now I am an avid Linux Mint user, but I am still uncertain what advantages the 64-bit version would have. Most importantly the performance gain vs. driver problems specifically for Mint 7 Gloria. Can someone enlighten me? Does someone have benchmark numbers and/...

Wicd won't change a thing in this respect, I tried it myself for the same reason.

Experiences with Mint 5 Fluxbox?

Hi there, I have a spare box with 384MB memory that I have been trying to find a good distro for. Since I am running Mint 5 Main (Gnome) edition on my 'main' box, I was looking for something different. I just recently installed Sidux on it and this runs fine, but I really like Mint and am very inter...

Some suggestions to make Mint even better

I love Linux Mint and think it is the most user-friendly Linux distro I have ever tried. There is always room for improvement though, and I immediately thought of Mint when I read this somewhat odd but very entertaining review: http://contentconsumer.wordpress.com/2008/04/27/is-ubuntu-useable-enough...

Re: CNR Upgrade

I would be interested as well if this works. Could be some stiff competition for the Mint Software Portal. But hey, that's a good thing, right? ;)

My problem too

I posted in another topic earlier, but this is the EXACT problem I am having at the moment with Bianca. Everything used to work fine in Bea and even in Bianca, but something broke somewhere and now I cannot connect anymore to my WPA network.

Thanks

Thanks for the quick reply, scorp.

I was not saying I prefer VMWare. Actually, I have experienced the same config-cycle several times and wasn't too happy with it. And after your comparison, I think I'll give VirtualBox a try. :D

VMWare?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't Virtualbox essentially do the same as VMWare Server, which is also free? Can anybody tell me why I should use one or the other? In other words, how do they compare?

Installs fine, but can't add to panel

Well, MintMenu installs fine through apt-get here, but then when I try to add it to the panel, nothing happens. I restarted X, but still have the old menu.

What could be wrong?
