Fingerprint Login on Linux Mint 17 (Cinnamon, x64)

Dear Linux Mint forum community, I recently upgraded my Thinkpad X61s to Linux Mint 17 from version 16 which I had before. On Mint 16, fingerprint login worked fine after installing and setting up fingerprint-gui. However, with Mint 17, I cannot log in with MDM. Everything else seems to work though:...

See apt output of updates until user presses "Close"

Hello Mint Forum users, I am gladly using mint, but I am having some issues with mintUpdate - more of a usability thing, nothing that doesn't work (but needs workarounds to work right). On one machine, where I currently still use Linux Mint 14, I can see the terminal output of apt when using mintUpd...

Re: Linux Mint 17 "Qiana" Cinnamon is out!

@ZenBeam: I have activated Levels 4 and 5 since I am using Linux Mint, which is about version 13 (I have been using Ubuntu and Debian before), and never had any problems. In my opinion, the warning about Level 4 and 5 updates is misplaced and does not make much sense.

Re: Linux Mint 17 "Qiana" Cinnamon is out!

Thanks for the new version, I know I'm going to love it after I installed it on 2 machines (currently running 14 and 16). However, I noticed there is a new update manager included in version 17, so I was wondering, whether it will be possible again to show the apt shell output in such a way that the...

Re: Panel launcher applet just disappeared!

Okay, here's how I fixed it: I made a new user account, just in order to see whether the panel applets were there in that new account. After logging out of that account and logging back into my account, the panel applets were back again! (However, before when I was trying to get them back by rebooti...

Re: Panel launcher applet just disappeared!

Hello Rehdon, I did in fact try to reset the different default settings in dconf-editor. I have also "found" the Applet (or what's left of it) on my panel: It is only a border, that appears when hovering the mouse over it, maybe about 5-10 Pixels wide. It disappears when I turn the Applet ...

Panel launcher applet just disappeared!

Hello Linux Mint Forum community, I am fairly new to Cinnamon and am still trying to find my way around. However, I just tried to get my beloved "one level up"-button back into nautilus by installing the nautilus patch from https://launchpad.net/nautiluspatchtogglelocationbar Which broke i...
