Re: UPDATE PACK 5 FEEDBACK THREAD

Plymouth seems to be broken. I checked Ubuntu's Plymouth page and installed plymouth-x11 to test Plymouth and LMDE says that Plymouth is running, but when I try run

Code: Select all

plymouth show-splash
nothing happens.

Re: UPDATE PACK 5 FEEDBACK THREAD

I'm using Cinnamon and the only issue is that, the Cinnamon panel does not recognize my battery icon, but that's all. Great Work with the UP! sudo touch /dev/sda/forcefsck
This will cause fsck to run at the next boot. Much safer than trying to force fsck to run on a mounted drive.
I'll have to remember that. Thanks for mentioning it. :D

Re: LMDE "LATEST" Still full of breakages

I noticed after upgrading to Update Pack 2, my battery's percentage is grossly under or overestimated. It has told me that at 98%, that I have "831 hours and 8 minutes left" and that at 95% I have "1 minute left". I have tried updating to the experimental version of gnome-power-manager, but I am sti...

Re: how/where to ask questions about APT and its tools?

I would recommend buying a reference book of Linux commands. I bought Linux Phrasebook by Scott Granneman and it really helped me get comfortable with doing things from the command line. And as an added note, I would recommend all new LMDE users learn the command sudo fsck /dev/sda1 I have had to us...

Re: UPDATE PACK 1 FEEDBACK THREAD

When I click on the battery icon in the notification area, it says "Laptop battery(43.9%)" twice. I'm using "Notification Area 2.30.2".

Re: FEEDBACK THREAD

Everything upgraded just fine on my system, except for kdenlive. I had to uninstall it because the system claimed it was broken. When I tried to reinstall it I was given the error "Some packages could not be installed. This may mean that you have requested an impossible situation or if you are using...
