check locale coding

type in terminal

dpkg-reconfigure locales

nouveau drivers are working very well on some machines, no need to change if working well

Re: No sound on linux

if you are using usb for speakers
then show us lsusb ( just put it in terminal) with unit plugged in
i'll assume the computer's volume is turned up if it has a physical volume control, this includes usb units

Re: No sound on linux

We (anyone who might be of help) still don't know what your computer thinks is your sound card
how about
terminal
arecord -l
then arecord -L
or cat /proc/asound/cards

Re: Gnome shell crash

some of the interwebs say maybe nautilus pastebin.
do you have that?
it looks like it has been an intermittent bug for other distros
ubuntu tells you to rewrite some css junk which i think would make it draw icons smaller

Re: Gnome shell crash

i have librsvga
no crashy
the shell is strangely complicated
i updated my tweak tool from sid and everything works better

it could have something to do with a pixbuf library

Re: question about mint debian

if you install the lmde distro and find it's incompatible with the course requirements for some reason, it's not too hard to unmintify by changing your repositories over to pure debian ones i should think the course wants debian based as common so that commandline inputs all match and there isn't to...

Re: UPDATE PACK 4 FEEDBACK THREAD

hi zerozero
nope not a version issue
3.2 all around
i'm guessing usr/gnomeshell.theme vs gnomeshell.theme as the folder i deleted was all by itself
which makes the question--where is this tweak tool installing to, and where did it come from?

deleted it everythings fine

Re: Electric sheep

Do you mean autogen.sh made a new folder? or did it really install and you have an option in applications like with vlc? i managed to build some folders but they wouldn't complete the ./configure step none of my stuff was the right versions it doesn't seem to be supported real good right now. what h...
