Re: where do scans go?

Two ways to figure that out - scan something else and pay attention to where the scan software saved the file. - find the file(s): find $HOME -iname "*filename*" filename = some part of the scanned files name; could be "jpg" or whatever. I like the find route. I've made up a fin...

Thanks
Just wondering why do you feel the need to delete these files? They shouldn't be particularly large. Logrotate will eventually take care of them.

Re: Firefox tabs

Every time I start Firefox it shows my homepage and also opens a blank "new tab". I have been fiddling around with the preferences, but have failed so far to stop it from opening that nuisance of a tab. I am running LM 14 /Cinnamon This is nothing serious in the great scheme of the univer...

Re: Ubuntu Paranoia?

Today I downloaded the Xubuntu 13.04 Daily Build to see if I could get a little preview of what may be coming in the Spring. Guess what? It wouldn't even boot. Then I found out why: http://www.extremetech.com/computing/138200-key-parts-of-ubuntu-13-04-will-be-developed-in-secret-to-escape-the-criti...

Re: Was Alacarte fixed/updated recently?

Was playing around (fun stuff  ) Had to reinstall LMDE-Xfce to before UPack 5! Noticed a new (in default install UP5) now has alacarte (menu editor) :o Changed to Standard (default) menu instead of the 'custom XDG one', and did some tests seems to work properly (on default menu) now. Can n...

Re: SVG renderer

Hi Gaurav, Have you seen this link: Run scour for a batch of svgs (https://answers.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/scour/+question/148801) ? I used the following from there: find . -name "*.svg" -type f -print0 | xargs -0 -I file sh -c 'F="file"; F="${F%.svg}.opt.svg"; /PA...

Okay, now I want to know how to do it for all the svg files in a folder and subfolders? Is that possible or does it require advanced CLI skills?

Re: SVG renderer

A quick google search revealed this. http://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/SVG_benchmarks Common logic says that the bigger a file, more time is needed to render it, as more code needs to be parsed/interpreted. I guess it won't matter much in daily usage(milli seconds) but would certainly save space;scour ...

Re: SVG renderer

Edition:LM13 with cinnamon Which is the default SVG renderer. I'm guessing it's rsvg. All the icons included the distro are inkscape svg(contain a lot of inkscape clutter like grid/guide positions, etc).
