:)

And the text editor is Kate and the file manager is Dolphin, and Gwenview is the image viewer in case it matters! Anything else, just ask!

Re: Mate to xfce?

Op's experiencing problems with the existing system. Doing a version upgrade upon a dodgy system may not be the best idea. My vote is for a clean install including a brand-new home folder after backing up personal data.

... Again I stress this can bork your Mint and I am in no way responsible for that! You could add that to your post in this thread where you first mention using LM KDE 18.3 but with Plasma 5.11.5 (latest frameworks and QT installed) and can honestly say that I am quite pleased with it's overall per...

Re: How can one block unwanted updates from the main repository?

.. The way I keep a given version of firefox is to completely uninstall it, then "install" the wanted version from https://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/firefox/releases/ apt/synaptic don't know about it because it's not a regular install; you just extract the stuff, then run it. But that will auto-update, w...

Re: What exactly was the point in uploading javascript into my computer?

Just because something has "Unity" in it doesn't mean it has to do with Ubuntu. See https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Unity_games and https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Unity_(game_engine) From the second link: Unity is a cross-platform game engine developed by Unity Technologies,[2] which is primari...

Re: What exactly was the point in uploading javascript into my computer?

I mean, confused? Why would you include this garbage in an update? Why would I need javascript? This is a security risk. What is the point in having this crud on a MINT system? And why don't you make it more noticeable when you do insane things like load javascript, needlessly onto a MINT machine?!...

Try locate konsole | grep "/home" to identify files you can rename.

Re: No Changelog for Updates

I'm not sure it's the Mint's team's job to provide "changelogs" for software they don't make themselves. https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/releases/ has brief details of what changes with each release. You can also look at: https://wiki.mozilla.org/Features/Release_Tracking https://hg.mozilla.or...

That's significant! current ESR and clone/derivative users won't benefit.

Re: Import column-arranged plain text into spreadsheet or table

To successfully "import" stuff into Calc there has to be consistency wrt "Separator options". In other words, spaces, or tabs, or commas, etc.

Anyways, unless one is using Arch or Fedora or some other rolling release, we are far away from 3.28 :)

I read that changing

from 0 to 1 is supposed to add scrollbar arrows, but that too has no effect.

Any suggestions?

Re: Seeking PDF viewer/utility with specific capabilities

OP seems to want to open several pdf files each in its own tab in the application and somehow rename them based on their content without using a file browser. I don't use okular much and so I don't know if it supports tabs.

qpdfview does.
