Re: File Format on external HDD

Hi
Vincent is right. Don't know about the other features, but FAT32 limits the files size to 4GB. This reason alone is enough for being considered "rubish" nowadays.

To run any command as root put it on /etc/rc.local, before the "exit 0" command.

Re: Jumping Winblows to install Linux

Hi Septe, I just want to say that windows on virtual box is not an optimal platform for gaming. Your computer needs to run linux+windows+the game, so the performance will always be worse than doing it on windows directly. Also, hardware 3d acceleration on virtual box is an experimental feature for n...

Re: disable mouse clicks with touchpad

Hi again,
syndaemon does exactly what you want (and it is easier to setup than the previous solution  )

See this
http://embraceubuntu.com/2006/09/20/dis ... en-typing/

Or do "man syndaemon" in the terminal and figure it out by yourself :)

Re: Set ubuntu one non MINT

Hi lord max,
you can always use google :), search for:
"site:forums.linuxmint.com ubuntu one mint"

If you use a Mint with a Ubuntu base:

Otherwise it will be more difficult:

Re: Korsakow OSS

Hi kane_of_node,
open source does not mean that the software is cross platform.
To work in Linux you would have to port the application.

I would sugest you to try wine but it seems that you are out of luck

Re: Hello - I'm a newbiee!

Hi ItzAmyxx, just to stress something that Wayne and Fletcher said (trying to keep you from abandoning us :D ), you can have both Windows and Linux Mint installed on the same computer. This solution is called dual boot, and it is the best solution if you need to use "heavy" Windows software like the...

Re: Best general cleanup programs for XFCE

Hi again Dick That never happened to me. I do not know what bleachbit could do to break your system. Are you sure that you didn't uptade your system in the meanwhile? The Mint team recently change the Mint XFCE base from Ubuntu to Debian, and that could mean some stability problems for now. Try ask ...

Re: Best general cleanup programs for XFCE

Hi, first of all you seem a bit confused about what is a Linux Distro. XFCE is a Desktop environment, not a Distro. See http://forums.linuxmint.com/viewtopic.php?f=90&t=54945 for a great discussion on the topic :) Bleachbit is the program you are looking for. It does a whole system cleanup of your s...

I think you are looking for Inkscape.
You can install it in the Software Manager.

Re: How to add a program to the menu

You have to drag to the internet section in the left box, not in the right one.

Alternatively, you can create the shortcut in the Internet section, also, you have to select the Internet section in the left box.

Re: How to add a program to the menu

Have you tried to drag the shortcut (while editing) to the Internet section (or other)?
I think individual shortcuts won't appear in the main Applications menu.

Hi hooj73
In any folder, you just need to go to
Edit -> Preferences
then, in the tab Views, in the section Default View you just change the box
"View new folders using:" to Compact view.

Re: same programs in the panle on multiple tops

Hi timjam

if you right click on the panel, just left of the windows list you can open the windows list preferences.
There you can select "Show windows from current workspace" opposed to "Show windows from all workspaces".

I hope that solves your problem :)
