Re: Full install/persistant live-boot on USB for private browsing?

No, JackMan96, there was no wasted time. It was a pleasure to work things out together. It would have been a bonus to know what your objective was at the start and I second the recommendation by pbear to use an external USB drive with Linux Mint installed as fitting for your purpose.

Re: Epson printer driver for XP220 in Mint 19.02

The Epson Download Centre search screen will respond only to the precise model number which is XP-220. Go to the Epson Download Centre https://download.ebz.epson.net/dsc/search/01/search/?OSC=LX type XP-220 into the search window and click on the magnifier. You will see 3 entries: Printer driver, Pr...

@ pbear - Thanks for the information. Rufus does not seem to be straightforward to use judging by the confusion some users have expressed.

Re: Epson printer driver for XP220 in Mint 19.02

Am I correct in interpreting what you have posted - you have 2 printers, an XP-220 and an XP-80 ? Drivers for both machines are available here: https://download.ebz.epson.net/dsc/search/01/search/?OSC=LX Before I can advise you further, you will have to state if you are using 32 bit or 64 bit archit...

Re: Shorter Panel with rounded ends, Like ios Panel

Have a look in System Settings, Themes and look for Simple Dock. That has short sections and rounded ends. Perhaps you can see there how it can be done.

Re: Full install/persistant live-boot on USB for private browsing?

.... I discovered the computer won't boot .ISO images from any normal distro. The obvious questions are "what is a normal distro" and how did you burn the ISO to the USB ? Installing Linux Mint using an ISO burned to a USB or DVD is a standard procedure. That creates a bootable drive. Not to be con...

Re: Full install/persistant live-boot on USB for private browsing?

Yes, you can do all of that as long as you know how to create a persistent bootable drive. I have used "mkusb" and its companion program "guidus" to do just that. That information may not be of much use to you in Windows 10 and you will have to find a suitable Windows USB creator. Be aware that you ...

Re: Epson XP 342 Printer/Scanner not found

If you downloaded the file to "Downloads" where it usually goes to then you first have to change directory to Downloads. cd Downloads then use the commands as given in the README file: tar xaf imagescan-bundle-linuxmint-19-3.62.0.x64.deb.tar.gz cd imagescan-bundle-linuxmint-19-3.62.0.x64.deb ./insta...

Try the Epson Download Centre for the drivers for the XP-342 (remember to include the hyphen).

Re: Epson WF-7210 stopped printing

I would use the Epson driver supplied by the Epson Download Centre: https://download.ebz.epson.net/dsc/sear ... ch/?OSC=LX

The driver you need is (for 64 bit system): epson-inkjet-printer-escpr2_1.1.11-1lsb3.2_amd64.deb
Once downloaded, a double click on the file will install it.

Re: Eye strain and display settings?

Night and day modes depend on the geographical co-ordinates relating to where you are, i.e. the longitude and latitude determined by the geolocation URL and the seasons and the position of the sun. These have already been set during the installation of Linux Mint when a time zone was specified as we...

Generally, a program is an evolving entity. Improvements are made, alterations for clarity, obsolete code is removed and so on. Updates show that someone is working on it. Re: Eye strain and display settings?

I don't see any option to adjust color temperature when i click on the redshift icon. Applets in System Settings has QRedshift as well as Redshift. This is rather confusing especially since one also has to install Redshift if using Redshift (no, this is not a typo) and if using QRedshift one has to...

If you are using Cinnamon, open System Settings (in your main menu), Preferences, Applets. Click on the Download tab and you will get a prompt to update your cache - click on Yes. Look for "Redshift" (not QRedshift) and install it using the download arrow on the right of the screen. Next open the Ma...

Re: From tarball to installed software

The .tar.xz extension refers to a bundled and compressed file. Right click on the downloaded program and select "Extract Here" from the context menu. That will create a folder called "PySolFC-2.8.0 which will contain a README file that explains what to do next. You can find this program in the Softw...

Re: Calibre Line spacing

As far as I know, line spacing can be adjusted on the e-reader that you use. I use a Kobo and the availability of that function depends on the installed firmware. To adjust line-height you have to edit the style sheet of the book you want to read. Right click on the book, select "Edit book". Scroll ...

Re: Want MS US International keyboard back

The apostrophe is a common character, used for possessives and contractions. That's pretty obvious, I should think. Quite correct and there is no problem with that. My query was about a difficulty in creating characters with a diacritical mark as posted by the OP (who seems to have had his post tak...
