Re: GPG secret key and public key imported but don't work

If you have a back-up copy of .gnupg from 18.2 in your Home directory and it worked then the easiest way to transfer that file into Linux Mint 18.3 is to use Copy and Paste or an intermediary such as a USB stick. It is quite likely that your copy in 18.2 is different from that in 18.3 and you can ea...

Re: GPG secret key and public key imported but don't work

Before you remove or install anything relating to GPG, please note that if you need information about how to use GPG, try the command "man gpg" in a terminal. Also please note that "seahorse" is already installed in Linux Mint by default - obscured under the title "Passwords...

You would be able to print and scan if connected via USB but to get connected via Wi-Fi you should follow the instructions in this HowTo:

Re: can't see bottom panel

The image you posted of the Linux MInt desktop clearly shows the bottom panel. It is where the Menu button is.

To install Linux Mint double click on the "Install Linux Mint" icon displayed on the desktop.

Re: [SOLVED] How to speed up automated suspend in linuxmint 18.1 ?

Thank you for your acknowledgement, newbie serena - I am pleased that I was able to help. Like you and many others, I am very much concerned about using generated energy sparingly. In Australia we enjoy a very sunny climate and the power that my solar panels generate is available for my use without ...

Re: Issue with sound output mapping and settings after 18.3 upgrade

I doubt that it has anything to do with Linux Mint 18.3. Perhaps the newly released kernel 4.10.0-42 will bring a fix.

Re: Completely remove/reinstall Nvidia drivers

That was bad luck with the nvidia cards :( and I wonder what the cause might be. The Driver Manager should be sufficient to remove or install any drivers. You can also check in Synaptic to see which nvidia driver is installed and which nvidia drivers are available. To remove nvidia drivers completel...

Re: "Please switch to another Linux Mint mirror. Your APT cache is corrupted"

When upgrading from 18.2 to 18.3 the mirrors are reset to the Linux Mint repositories. Reset them to your choice of mirrors before doing any updates. If you get a corrupt cache message, open Software Sources in the Update Manager screen, click on Maintenance and select Fix MergeList Problems, then U...

Re: Issue with sound output mapping and settings after 18.3 upgrade

Have you looked in AlsaMixer? Open a terminal and type alsamixer followed by pressing Enter. You can verify in alsamixer which sound card is in use by pressing F6.

Have you tried the inbuilt sound chip?

Re: Virtual box not seeing USB drive

"Users and Groups" is an entry under "Administration" in your main menu.
When you open it, you will see 2 headings: Users (which will show your name) and Groups. Click on Groups, scroll to "vboxusers", click on vboxusers and then click on "Add".

Re: Issue with sound output mapping and settings after 18.3 upgrade

In the Output section of Sound Device Settings instead of "Analogue Stereo Input" it should read "Analogue Stereo Output". That is what it says on my system. What I would do is to switch the audio input/output lines from your sound card to your motherboard inbuilt sound sockets a...

On the other hand ... Developments in CrossOver are shared with WINE, so a contribution to CrossOver helps development of WINE. Re: How to speed up automated suspend in linuxmint 18.1 ?

In Linuxmint 18.2 Sonya I can only choose for an automated suspend in 10 minutes. That is not true. You can select 5 minutes. I am still puzzled by your claimed installation of Dconf, Dconfig, Gconf and Gconfig. MuteAnt has already indicated to you how to install dconf-editor and also clearly state...

The first thing to do is to connect the machine to power and use a USB cable to connect to your computer. Reboot. Next, open System Settings in your main menu, scroll down to Hardware and then Printers to see if your printer is recognised. Otherwise, go to the Epson Download Centre http://download.e...
