Re: Mintupdate: Impossible to install security updates

Thanks for your reply!

Trying to select sources doesn't work through Mintupdate, but I was able to do it through Synaptic.

Didn't change anything, I'm sorry. What bothers me is that Mintupdate should ask for the password but doesn't.

Might be why the updates are not applied?

Mintupdate: Impossible to install security updates

Hi everyone, A few issues with Mintupdate... It shows me the updates available (refreshing works) but doesn't ask me for my password and when I try applying the updates after a few seconds I get the message at the bottom of the window: Impossible d'installer les mises à jour de sécurité (Impossible ...

Swiss keyboard Installer crash workaround

Hello, This is more as information/fix to anyone who might have encountered the same problem, as it seems to originate upstream ( https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/ubiquity/+bug/1182784 apparently still not fixed), but there it is: It 's been happening since Mint 16 but I hadn't been able to...

I second that - I won't go as far as saying I hate blue, but I definitely prefer green...

Re: KHotNewStuff problem

I agree, it's a nice idea but not entirely reliable. I think it worked in Elyssa, though - I'm not 100% sure.
Well if you don't have a clue I feel somewhat less useless... In any case, thank you for answering!
It's not a showstopper, however - I'm enjoying the release very much anyway.

Re: KHotNewStuff problem

Sorry for not posting it earlier, I'm really not very good with screenshots... Here is the error message - the text roughly translates as "An error occurred while loading data suppliers" which is not very helpful. http://thumbnails13.imagebam.com/3298/c63fd032972962.gif Should it ha...

Re: Desktop effects and Mint KDE 6

Hi,
Depending on your hardware, you also may need a non-free driver for your video card - desktop effects didn't work for me before I installed the Nvidia driver - then it was a breeze...

KHotNewStuff problem

Hi, Upgraded a couple of days ago from Elyssa to Felicia - very nice. KDE4 will certainly need some using to, though. However, when I wanted to play around a little with the desktop, adding themes/widget/wallpapers/plasmoids through KhotNewStuff didn't work - apparently it cannot reach the relevant ...

Yep, faster from my end too - I also support the anti-spam measure. Sorry it had to come to that, though.

Re: Linux Mint 4.0 KDE released!

I played with it during my lunch break - install is for the week-end when I'm home long enough - but it is beautiful, a pleasure to use. Despite what some said, I kind of like the logo - I'd have prefered it in green though, but then I have issues with blue. Thank you Boo, for all the time you inves...

Re: Daryna KDE CE BETA 044 is out!

... it will, it will... if I've got it right, Boo has the final version "ready", it is now being tested by Exploder and after him, Clem has to give his final approval - and then we'll have it!
Someday...

Re: More desired Features please.

Hi, What I would suggest is keeping your home directory on a separate partition - and keep it intact when you upgrade - all your settings should remain. Or you can save your Firefox/Thunderbird profiles before upgrading and restore them afterwards. They're in hidden folders, if I remember well ~/.mo...
