Re: update Chromium browser in Mint 13

Chromium 37 is as high as it goes in the 13 repos.

I was hoping to stay with both 13 and Chromium.

update Chromium browser in Mint 13

Hello all. I've been happily using Mint 13 with Chromium (Version 37.0.2062.120 Built on Ubuntu 12.04, running on LinuxMint 13 (281580) (64-bit)) as my primary browser. The other day I noticed every time I open gmail I get the message "This version of Chrome is no longer supported. Please upgrade to...

That's a negative. I get a: "1.2. Select CD Rom boot type" error.

Mint 17 on 2007 MacBook

Hi all! I have a 2007 MacBook (basic) that is getting slow with Lion and I want to upgrade to Mint 17. My model uses a version of EFI that makes 17 unreadable. So far I have found a "for Mac" version of Ubuntu 14.04 that was able to install, but I really prefer Mint 17. Has anyone successfully insta...

Re: Fall-back mode on Mint16 Cinnamon

I had a similar issue when upgrading to Cinnamon 2.0 on Mint 13. My solution was to disable all desklets (others have disable most if not all applets as well) and then restart.

Cinnamon was stable for me at that point and I was able to enable desklets again.

Hope this works for you,

Re: Can't Connect to WiFi

RW, Welcome to the forum. I just spotted your post. While I do not have a definite answer I may be able to steer you in the right direction. I have experienced the same exact thing on several different machines. Nearly every time it was because a wireless adapter would not play well with the linux 3...

Re: trying to install applets

Unless I am mistaken you will want to right click on the folder and select "open as administrator". It will ask you for your password and then you should be good to go.

Re: What do you not like about Cinnamon?

There are several things I don't like about Cinnamon: First: Cinnamon seems to be created to make things easier for those who come from Windows XP or who like GNOME 2. However MATE is a better solution for those guys (I can't understand why Mint guys are developing two DE that have the same goal). ...

Re: Mint 13 LXDE. When?

Garvan, Someone here (Seppalta perhaps) has tried to install LXDE over the MATE version and had a few minor issues. I have installed LXDE over the cinnamon version and it has been working fine. I even went as far as to uninstall cinnamon and it works without ill effects. It left some gnome things be...

Found a weather applet for LXDE

Hi all. Many have asked about a weather applet for LXDE. I have been using Weather Indicator from the Mint repos but it has been buggy in LXDE. In fact for the past 48 hrs or so it has been useless on all my machines. It is stuck on "refreshing" and utterly worthless. I did some studying and came ac...

Re: Mint 13 LXDE. When?

The best option for the community would be if the users that want to keep Mint LXDE alive could come together and build the Mint 13 LXDE Community Edition. It's more work but could be fun. Anyone interested? I would be interested Nunol. Have you participated in a community edition before? I have no...

Re: Cinammon or MATE on old-ish 1GB RAM netbook?

In my experiences: MATE is functional but not very speedy on a similar machine (Acer AOD250). It's OK but not speedy. Cinnamon is much newer looking, not much faster, but I've had menu issues (needing xkill to end PokerTH). It is nearly perfect. In time it may be. What I wound up with was a combinat...

Right now the stable version is here:

ftp://ftp.heanet.ie/mirrors/linuxmint.com/stable/13/

The rest of the servers should have it up for download in a day or two.

PokerTh & Cinnamon

Hello all, I would just like to report a bug or problem that I've come upon in Mint 13 Cinnamon. When I play PokerTh 0.9.4 once one logs on to an online game one cannot close the program. There is a second window that opens (called "lobby") and there are no window buttons (+-x) like there should be....

Re: must reinstall linux wireless drivers every boot

Angt, I tried that but to no avail. Thanks for the suggestion though. I created a folder in my home directory and run it from there. Do I need to have it anyplace specific before I run it? It's very strange, it installs and activates the antenna, but does not keep it saved or memorized for later use...

must reinstall linux wireless drivers every boot

Hi all! I've been using my Rosewill RNX-MININ1 with ndiswrapper. The connection is decent at best and likes to disconnect. Recently I found a driver upgrade here: http://rosewill.com/products/1777/ProductDetail_Download.htm I downloaded the linux drivers from the bottom (dated May 10) and did an ins...

Re: Clam AV Not updating

I am now unable to upgrade engine to 0.97.4 in Mint 9, even when using the previously successful steps listed above.

Any thoughts or ideas?

Re: Problem Installing ClamAV AntiVirus In Mint

Don't know if I'm in the right spot?

I can't seem to upgrade clamav engine to 0.97.4 in Mint 9.

The usual way keeps me in 0.97.3.

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance,

Re: Display won't work after installing LM9 Fluxbox edition

PizzaDragon,

Welcome to the forum.

While I can't give you a workaround for your issue with Mint 9 Fluxbox I can tell you that you should be able to use that hardware with Mint 9 LXDE.

Have you considered that?

Re: How to install thinkorswim .sh file?

Can't speak for thinkorswim.sh but I had similar java issues with webex on Katya & Lisa,

Had no problems when I installed on Isadora (9 LTS).

Peculiar.
