Re: Bluetooth on Maya

@ Lord_Eager

Sorry for the very late reply!
Indeed "sudo rfkill unlock-all" did it for me.
Now I have bluetooth working.

Thank you very very much for your help.

Another happy "mint only" customer.

Re: Bluetooth on Maya

Lord-Eager,

By the way, I had to put the SSD (maya) back into my laptop.
Windows 7 is too much of a pain in the lower back.

Re: Bluetooth on Maya

Lord_Eager,

Thanks for the suggestion.
All F keys work with the exception of the "radio" button.
I have to investigate this further.

Sorry! You are perfectly right. My answer is a bit delayed as I can only used my left hand at the moment. Here is some information as to my hardware: Dell Inspiron 1110 Intel Pentium SU4100 @ 1.30GHz (x2) 4,00 GB Single-Channel DDR2 @ 410MHz (6-6-6-18) 298 GB HD (MS Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit) 12...

Re: Bluetooth on Maya

Same problem here! <SOLVED> I have been using Mint since Daryna (dual boot with windowx xp) and only Mint since Helena. As of now, I absolutely need to use bluetooth and Maya does not deliver! Life is hard sometimes. So I did bite the bullet and went back to windows7. OMG how low can you get... :( f...

Re: printing problems

Hi!
I also had problems setting up my printer Brother HL-2150N on Mint 13 (Cinnamon)
The solution was to go to "http://localhost:631/" in my browser.

Good luck

Re: Poll: Desktop environments

I am using Katya (Mint 11) on my current laptop, while waiting for the next LTS version of Mint.
In the meantime, I am using LMDE with Cinnamon on my old test machine (2005).
I do like it a lot! :D
Thank you for that.

Re: Printer enable

@ slider

Thank you for the solution proposed in your post.
Yesterday, I switch to Mint 11 from Mint 9, and found out that I could no longer enable my network printer (Brother HL-2150N).
I followed your suggestion and used the CUPS page.
Now all is in order. It was even fun to do!

Thank a lot

[solved] search the forum for me-tv gives nothing!

Hi, Where to begin? I know that "me-tv" is mentioned in the forum (if you do a search for "mythtv" you'll find posts that mention it!). However I cannot performed a search for it, even with an " * " before or after it. How can I find information in the forums about it? ...

Re: GNOME or LXDE

On my older laptop: HP Omnibook vt6200 (1.7-GHz P4-M, 256MB DDR SDRAM, 38GB hard drive, 15.1-inch display, ATI Mobility Radeon)
Mint LXDE runs perfectly while standard Mint does not.
I am very satisfied with it.

Linux Mint in a community project

From the blog of Ken Stark, the man behind the HeliOS Project.

http://linuxlock.blogspot.com/2010/02/l ... in-it.html

A mention of Linux Mint used in a very successful community project.

Many thanks to Ken.

Re: why ? Dark screen on Mint 7

I think that I solved my problem. First I rebooted under "compatibility mode". Then, I ended up having problem with the display. I rebooted again under "recovery mode" and try the entrée for correcting display problems. And all is back to normal (for the time being...). I am happ...

Re: why ? Dark screen on Mint 7

Hi! I do not have a solution, as I have the same problem... It does not seem to be related to Mint as the same thing happens with Super OS (which is also Ubuntu based). Mint 5 or 6 have worked well in the past, as other distros (I am writing this using Puppy as my secury fall back!). I hope some ans...

Re: What version of Mint do you use?

I am running Daryna GNOME on my laptop Dell Latitude X1. I have try other flavours but always come back to GNOME. Install was flawless and I always use it at home. At work however an other system is (very unfortunately) obligatory :( ... I am waiting for Mint 5!

Re: I Repent

down8ve, I completely agree with you!
After playing around with RedHat many many years ago, I was lured back to Linux via Ubuntu.
I tried Kubuntu, Mint, back to Ubuntu. Finally I realised how comfortable and pleasing Mint can be.
So I am back to stay.

Thank you all for such a nice distro. :D

printing under Linux Mint

Hi! You might say that i am a newby, although I dabbled with Red Hat 10 years ago. Now I have settled onto Mint for obvious reasons. But before coming to Linux Mint, I have tried Ubuntu and Kutuntu (I prefered Ubuntu...). Using those two distro I could print on a network printer (Lexmark T630) using...
