Re: Dark Dropbox Icons Glitch

I can get a dark dropbox icon when I switch to Faenza icon theme. The icons are located in status/22 and/or status/24 folders.
I also get a light version when I switch to Faenza-Dark

Re: Graphical Issues on Menus

Double check to see if you have gtk3-engines-unico installed, if I remember correctly that package is required for Mint-Z.

Re: going in circles to Splash screen.. please help

I see. Something still has a lock on. Usually it's KDM. Try:

Code: Select all

sudo /etc/init.d/kdm stop
Then startx

Re: going in circles to Splash screen.. please help

Looks like you just have two (2) kernels installed, not 2 versions of mint. You could try a couple things: Like the previous poster stated when you drop into a tty (ctrl alt f1) maybe you just need to reconfigure your xorg: sudo nvidia-xconfig then startx Also, what Nvidia card do you have that requ...

Re: DNS Servers

I see, I didn't know you were on mobile broadband, my mistake. Does this help your cause: "First, open the KDE Network Manager settings, switch to "Mobile Broadband" and select "Edit". Select the "IP Address" tab. Select "Automatic (DHCP) Addresses only". You will then be able to enter DNS Server ad...

Re: Text files get opened with LibreOffice

Right click on any text file. Properties -> Select the little wrench under the General tab - You should see "Application Preference order", then either remove libreoffice from the list or move kate (or kwrite) to the top of the order.

Re: DNS Servers

I think:

Code: Select all

sudo nano /etc/resolv.conf
make your desired changes. ctrl+o to save, ctrl+x to exit

Then you can test with nslookup or the digg command

Re: Calibre issues (mint 10 KDE ubuntu)

Are you running the latest v. of calibre? I'm on Mint 12 KDE and it works fine, but make sure your at least up-to-date on calibre: sudo python -c "import sys; py3 = sys.version_info[0] > 2; u = __import__('urllib.request' if py3 else 'urllib', fromlist=1); exec(u.urlopen('http://status.calibre-ebook...

Re: App names appear twice in taskbar?

If I understand correctly, you want to move your windows list applet further to the left? Right click on the Applet (Unlock if necessary) and move/drag it to where you want it.

Re: WiFI doesn't work in Mint 7 KDE

Ummm, That's kind of a vague post, no worries though. What kind of wireless card do you have? Do you mean there are no available networks in network manager? Or can you not connect to a particular network? Was your wireless card previously working in LM6 (or another distro)? Post output of these: ls...
