How to Disable Lock Screen

I am using Mint 19 Mate. Every few seconds it seems that my screen goes blank and I have to enter my password to continue. Is there a way to disable this permanently?

OK all, problem solved! Not sure what the difficulty was with the initial installation of Skype 4.0 last evening but this morning I decided to re-install the software and that solved the problem. OK, pdc_2, I'm happy to know that someone has been able to get Skype 4.0 running in Mint 13, so there's hope that I'll eventually get it working.
