Terminal crashed during upgrade.(A miraculous recovery)
I started my upgrade, but had to depart for work before it completed. I left the terminal open and came back to find it requesting a sudo password. I entered the password and then tried to open a new tab to run a command and the terminal crashed. Obviously this is not ideal. I'm at a completely unkn...

Re: Moving /home from one install to another.
Well, I've stumbled my way through a half-assed solution. Once I had the old /home in the same partition with the right permissions, I just logged off the user and used some mv commands from terminal to shuffle the folders around. I'm encountering all the problems I thought I would. Tried installing...

Re: Moving /home from one install to another.
I'm mucking around with it a bit to see what traps I might fall into. So far I'm not sure how to do the copying while preserving the permissions. I've seen some commands in other threads that might give me some clues. I'll explore those until someone comes along with a better idea. I'm going to expl...

Moving /home from one install to another. [SOLVED]
It has been a while since I've attempted this type of exercise, so I'm a little rusty on the process and pitfalls. Basically this is the situation. I had an install of LM 19 already up and running on one partition. I had an earlier version of Mint (Rosa) on another partition and Manjaro on another. ...

Re: Keepass2 or KeepassX auto-type
That seems to be an issue that might get more answers via keepassx support. Just a suggestion.

Re: Adobe Ending Flash Support for Linux
Well this is a disturbing moment for me. I'm still fairly reliant on Flash in my web browser, but will end up being left behind by Adobe. I curse the day that Flash was created. This is just another reminder of why proprietary codecs, plugins etc are a curse upon us all.

Re: Please keep supporting the MATE desktop.
I'm keen for MATE to be supported too. It seems that some people think Gnome 2's days are over, but I never understood why the Gnome Foundation had to move away from it. It is a perfectly good desktop environment that is loved by many. I would be extremely pleased to see MATE become another standard...

Re: Not Booting Due to cryptswap1
Oh bummer. I was so hopeful of finding a solution in this thread. I'm experiencing the same problem with an encrypted swap and /home.

First time Linux Mint user.
Hey people, I always like to read the forums that relate to whatever software/operating systems that I am currently using, so here I am. I've been a linux user since around 2004. Started with Ubuntu, which is a pretty common story. For the last couple of years I have been using Arch linux. I like to...
