Re: Firefox icon SOLVED
Ah, now, if I revert back to square icons the Firefox icon remains as a round icon. That's not a problem for me but thought I'd mention it.

Re: Firefox icon
Sorry, I must be really thick. The stuff about bash means nothing to me and I thought Nemo was a Cinnamon thing. If I try to open the Desktop folder and right click then select Open With > Text Editor I get a load of gibberish, nothing about an icon= line. I'm doing something wrong! I update via the...

Sorry, can you explain that a bit more, I'm (still) a newb when it comes to the Terminal, etc.lmuserx4849 wrote: ⤴Tue Mar 27, 2018 1:14 amIf you look at $HOME/Desktop/firefox.desktop, what is "Icon=" set to.

Re: Firefox icon
Ah, it's the same size if I use the 'square' icons, if I change to round icons then the Firefox icon is supersize, same as if I log-on in my own account.

Re: Firefox icon
If I use the standard 'square' icons then the Firefox icon is the correct size but it's supersize if I revert back to the round icons.

Interesting, as the icon for the new user is the correct size (same as all others).

Re: Firefox icon
Tried that. I deleted the icon then did 'add to desktop' to get a new icon - still extra large.

Firefox icon SOLVED
The Firefox icon on my desktop has increased in size by about 100%. Others remain at original size. Happened not long after I updated to latest version of Firefox but can't be totally sure that's anything to do with it. Tried right clicking on icon and Resize Icon, doesn't work (but works on other i...

Re: After 20 attempts, finally registered on forum!
I never use Logout. I just close the tab. If that helps, or makes any difference. Not sure that helps if you clear cookies when you close browser / power off PC Thanks. But I don't see this as an issue. Power Off the PC? Are you crazy? OK, it's not an issue for you. Sometimes I want, or need to, po...

Re: After 20 attempts, finally registered on forum!
No problems with new password. So far no problems with logging in. Lucky you! Got an email notif of reply to the thread, followed link in email and I had to log in to read it. Why? It's on the open forum. Still had to try several times before I could log in. Oh well, I'll be patient, must be a real...

Re: After 20 attempts, finally registered on forum!
I'm pleasantly surprised at how quickly the message board and main site were restored and I understand it'll take a little while to get things sorted completely but just FYI, I'm still having to make several attempts at logging in and the Captcha isn't clear: I've been unable to distinguish an N fro...

Um, isn't it a good idea to keep the forum software up-to-date rather than use an old version, as was the case.Pierre wrote:also2: the forum is now using a later release of the phpBB software

I just wanted to edit my previous post. When I submitted it I got the message, that I have been banned, because my iP address has been misused because of spamming. That is impossible, as my current IP address cannot be used by anybody else and am I am connected to the Internet since this morning wi...

Re: Great that we are back
Good to see the main site and message board up and running again so quickly but I echo what Cosmo says. Log-in is a pain (and the Captcha isn't user-friendly) I have a real problem: I have logged off and back in this evening several times. On the 2 last occasions my log in had been rejected and I wa...

Re: Power on fails after Linux Mint shutdown - OK on cold bo
If anyone can come up with an answer - or suggestions - for Paul I'd be interested as I have the same problem. Two desktops (self build), both Asrock H81M, one running an Intel G3250, other an Intel G1840. If we have a power cut, or if I re-boot (G1840) PC, it won't boot for hours. I can hear the po...
