Ubuntu 10.04 worked like a charm, so there's definitely something going on with hardware compatibility with this image-- probably upstream, obviously.

I'm also totally looking forward to this. It's going to be the first non-Ubuntu-based distro I'm going to install . . . but the third Kendall-based distro, since I've got Mint LXDE on my desktop and Peppermint Two on my netbook! Thanks for all your hard work. Don't release it till it's done!
