I finally succeeded.
I used xorg-driver-fglrx from the repo + additionally installed xserver-xgl.

I hope i dont disturb anyone by replying to this that "late".
But you can use

sudo mount -a -o force
to do a forced mount of all the drives without rebooting.

Hello, I im kinda new to Mint and I installed the newest version, applied the xorg-driver-fglrx from the repository and commented out the 'Composite "0" ' line in xorg.conf .
