Re: Keyboard stopped working [SOLVED]

The same thing happened to me also i will try the fix you used. Mint really should patch this problem. I saw on ubuntus web site that its a know bug that the kernel shuts down the key board and thinks its a tablet. Mint usually work great most of the time but this bug really needs to be fixed right ...

Re: Screen brightness on Sony Vaio running M16

why do this the hard way? just go into system settings and under power management just set the brightness slider to the screen brightness you want and it will stay at that setting. dont need to use the keyboard to adjust the brightness. I have a sony and thats all that was needed. Always try the sim...

Re: rtl8187 disconnecting

Its a problem that seems to keep being ignored. From what I read its mostly to do with all the distros using new kernals that do not include support for most wireless cards. Untill the distros deside to deem it necessary to correct this problem by adding the missing wireless support this problem wil...

The mint team dident make mate, they made cinnamon. But they were one of the first distros to use mate.

Hope that makes sense, :)

Re: Wireless Drivers

I have the same wireless card in my sony lap top it seems quite a few people have been having wireless problems. The best solution to the problm is to just use a wired ethernet conection for the time being and hopefully they will fix this long going wireless problem that up untill now has seemed to ...

Re: So, Mint 15 RC Cinnamon is sucking..

mint 15 is working fine on my sony lap top also. Too many people want to blame mint when its most of the time hardware problems, video drivers etc. This is a rc not a finished product.

Re: Cinnamon and Gnome 3.8

If Cinnamon is in Mint's vision than it's more than likely to fork Gnome-3.6. I actually like Cinnamon it's a very functional desktop, but the control panel, and customization is kind of lacking (it almost gives that windows customization vibe... meaning not much) I however always used Gnome's cont...

Re: Wireless connection keeps dropping

I had the same problem and tried everything. The simple solution was to change the channel on my wireless router. When they are set up most times its put on 11 and that causes congestion and drops i connection etc. I changed my to channel 1 and all it rock solid again. Try this first hope it helps.

I think that most people are holding on to their desk tops and laptops that are still doing the job just fine and considering the economy plus windows 8 all combined together are the reason for less pc purchases. Re: Very Disappointed!

mint 13 cinnamon may be a better shot for you. mint 14 has had a few problems on some computers but it hasent been out as long. another thing get a rw dvd then if it dosent burn correctly you can just erase it and use it over again. also burn the dvd at the slowest speed that you can.

Re: How stable is LMDE?

lmde is a good choice. It not only looks great its very fast and stable. With
the way mint does the update packages you are assured of very limited breakage. Plus you have cinnamon and unlike some debian versions wifi drivers out of the box.
