Im not sure how to create shell scrips but for inactivity i would say no mouse or keyboard use. Could this be combined with suspend or sleep so if the computer suspends or sleep mode instead it goes to sleep between midnight and 6 am?

Shutdown if inactive

Im using mint 13, can i set it to shutdown between midnight and 6AM if there is nno activity for say 30 mins?

Yea im currently using the classic desktop, but i would just like to know if it would be possible to get the new desktop

This is probably an issue with the driver. On the login screen, try to start GNOME (Classic) or MATE instead. Gnome 3 - Toolbars or desktop

ok so i have a - ATI Radeon Mobility M7 LW resoluton 1024X768@60Hz And when i boot into gnome 3 at first i get a black screen with the toolbars top and bottom- if i click the desktop i get the Linux Mint 12 background with no toolbars. Is there a way i can get both or is my laptop just to out of dat...

I agree im not a huge fan of unity or gnome 3 but i can live with it, but i love XFCE and would love to see this in Mint

Well ideally i would like to save them on the linux machine (it has the bigger hard drive) but my main concern is will the laptop be able to open files and change them then save them on the Linux machine

[SOLVED]Sharing Files

Ok i have a windows 7 laptop and a Linux Mint 11 Desktop. Is there a way to share files between the 2 and have access to them and use them.

We record on the Windows side but need to edit on Linux and i dont want to save them locally on both machines

[SOLVED]Wired network wont Connect

Im fairly new to Linux and just switched from ubuntu to Mint on my Dell GX-60 When i had ubuntu i didnt have to adjust any network settings it found my router and connected. Mint is picking up Auto ethO but when i click it there is a small spinning in the icon then nothing it hasnt connected Any ass...
