Asunder with LMDE -- problems??

Hello,

I haven't found this brought up anywhere in the forums. After installing Asunder, the GUI hangs and provides no CD information. I installed from the repos. Has anyone else had this issue?

Thanks!

Re: How To: Auto Mount Samba Shares on Boot ( GVFS Method )

I have one question on running the "work around" script: #!/bin/sh while true do if initctl status nmbd|grep -c running then gvfs-mount smb://Server/share_name exit 0 fi sleep 5 done When running the script in Terminal I get an error: 10: initctl: not found When I manually gvfs-mount and then run su...

Re: [SOLVED] Networking not working on clean install: Mint 1

I know this thread has been marked as SOLVED, but I seem to be getting the same problem. After running smbtree, it asks for my password of the external drive I want to mount using Nautilus. But then, the only workgroup that's listed is for my desktop. I still can't mount using Nautilus, however I ca...

Re: Problems mounting NAS with CIFS in fstab

I marked this thread as SOLVED. It seems to have been a permissions issue on the NAS -- a LaCie d2 Network. I originally uploaded all of my files using the USB port on the NAS. However, I believe I was logged in as admin when I did this. So, even though all of my user permissions were correct when m...

Re: Problems mounting NAS with CIFS in fstab

And just to make sure that samba and linux permissions were't getting messed up, I set the samba user and group to match the linux group. It didn't seem to make a difference. I also double checked that the LaCie was running SMB service on the share, and indeed it was. I'm not sure why the NAS won't ...

Re: Problems mounting NAS with CIFS in fstab

Yes, you are correct -- I needed to install the gvfs-fuse package and add myself to the group. I mounted in the terminal with no problems using gvfs-mount smb://server/share and the mount point showed up in the .gvfs directory. The permissions in the mounted directory and subdirectories are as drwx-...

Re: Problems mounting NFS with CIFS in fstab

OK, after doing some debugging, not SOLVED yet, but here's what I've got: I have no idea how to mount NFS via CIFS. Did you mean NAS? Yes, of course -- I changed the post title. Mounting NFS via CIFS doesn't make much sense. While you try to debug this situation I would recommend you try the Gnome w...

[SOLVED] Problems mounting NAS with CIFS in fstab

Hi All, I'm looking for some help automounting my NAS using CIFS. I've got no write access for files already on the drive, but for some reason I can still r/w/x to the drive just fine when creating new files and saving them . I can even do a "save as" for a file on the drive, save it to the drive, a...
