Re: Unlock Screen on Dual Monitor Setup

I've seen exactly the same problem. I have found that if I type my password, the system unlocks. I have not found a solution to it yet but fortunately it does not stop be from getting back in,

Re: Plymouth theme for LMDE - V2 8/21/11

Just followed the process, LifeInTheGrey, but got the Fedora bar. Instead, on the right there is "Debian Wheezy/Sid", not the lmde theme that I installed through the terminal. Any ideas? I'm seeing exactly the same thing and "yes" I have the Nvidia drivers installed. So is there anyway to get accel...

Re: Conky in foreground foreground during logon

I think I figured out my own problem. I think that since I had conky as a startup app, I think that it was starting before the root window was completely created. All I did was create a conky.sh script with a sleep 10 and then call conky and it works correctly every time.

Conky in foreground foreground during logon

I'm new to Conky and I've had one piece of weirdness. When I initially log in, Conky seems to read the config file because it looks and displays what I want but for some reason, even though I have background=yes, it appears in the foreground in front of all other applications. If I open the config f...

How about following a pseudo application development naming standard

"Test" --> "QA" --> "Production" ??

Re: The sources.list and their variables

I saw the email related to the Update Pack 3 testers telling them to start using these repos exclusively and no longer use any of the debian ones. deb http://debian.linuxmint.com/incoming testing main contrib non-free deb http://debian.linuxmint.com/incoming/security testing/updates main contrib non...

Email related questions

I'm a new convert from Ubuntu to LMDE and I'm new to the purer Debian environment. When I migrated, I switched from Evolution to Thunderbird. I have a couple of basic questions around this change: 1. Can I uninstall Evolution without issue? I know that it's very tightly embedded in Ubuntu and diffic...

Printing not working on LMDE

I just recently distro hopped from Ubuntu to Linux Mint Debian and everything is working flawlessly except printing. I can't seem to figure it out. My printer is network based but to eliminate the network as the issue I connected it via USB and it would still not print (Yes I created a queue for the...
