Re: Mint 18.1 to 18.3 Boot loop with new kernels
pdc_2, funny, ha? So ironic. You wanna mess with my wife? Be my guest. At this point she backed up all her "necessary" data, and I got Mint 20.2 installed on her computer. Problem was, that without me around (working) she could not start system to back up her data. That's all. Sorry for my...

Re: Mint 18.1 to 18.3 Boot loop with new kernels
Guys, we start flooding. My post was about how to repair a Mint 18.3 booting or starting if you prefer, since no one could help me in this matter I don't see any reason to discuss pros and cons of ways to install different Mint releases at this topic. Thank you all for help you gave me.

Re: canon pixma mg6821 Not supported?
As it is mentioned here there is a scangearmp2 for working with scanner. Only thing they didn't mentioned, that after you installed .deb file, you see it nowhere. Every time you want to scan something you should start it on terminal. Just type there "scangearmp2". Or you can create an icon...

If you have a WiFi, you can run Kies air application on your SII, it'll give you URL for connection to SII, so you can use a WEB browser for download / upload fotos, files in/out SII, also backuping. Yet, I don't know about flushing firmware.

Re: Poll: Desktop environments
I liked Gnome2, then XFCE. I looked at LXDE two years ago - it was not good. But half a year ago I found LXDE pretty functional and unbelivebly fast, so with Linux Mint 12 I prefer LXDE.

KernelCheck or some other way for kernel compilation
Yes, I'm using different Linuxes for 5 years or so. About a 2 years I'm using Mints Katya LXDE is the last of 'em. One installation is on my wife's old desktop AMD Athlon 2400+; 512 Mb RAM DDR; ... All seems good, but I hoped, that performance of a system will be faster on such a hardware. So, some ...

Re: Just found - .midi files are not playing in Katya
O! Finally I got it working! First, I find, that my timidity is working, just I never used it like I should from command line. Mint IRC channel helped me a lot in that (special thanks to oOze). After that I followed mr. remoulder s link to ubuntuforum, did like they said and voila!

Re: Just found - .midi files are not playing in Katya
Yeeh, I'm tired of looking a remedy for all this. In ubuntuforums case was with timidity working in command line mode, but in my case I can't hear anything running timidity from command line, so all the rest is useless. I read timidity docs and I think, that I know it for sure now. There should be s...
