Re: Mint 9 LTS maintenance
Mint does not have a Universe repository. I don't know how it could have got there, but to get rid of the error, you will have to edit from your Software Sources program, and find/edit out the Universe part. (or you can manually edit the /etc/apt/sources.list file as superuser I am sorry for my pre...

Mint 9 LTS maintenance
Hi all, I am presently using Mint 9 i386 (single-booting my MacBook 2.1). Everything works fine, I am very satisfied with it. The only strange thing is that when I update the system I get that: Impossible de récupérer http://packages.linuxmint.com/dists/isadora/Release Unable to find expected entry ...

Re: Regarding Mint 9 LTS Isadora
After some time on Scientific Linux 6, I finally came back to Mint 9, because it was very convenient. Indeed, everyone talks about Mint 12, but Mint 9 LTS makes a lot of sense... I still run the latest when it comes to browsers, just install Ubuntu Tweak, and add the PPA's you need... Very easy... A...

Re: Benq 4300u Scanner ...
@Tenfoot:
I am running Windows XP, not 2000, in my VirtualBox... XP has many drivers that 2000 doesn't have...
The BenQ 4300 works out of the box in XP...
Then you just share a folder between your VirtualBox XP, and between your "real" desktop, and that's it...

Either reboot in Windows, or install Windows in VirtualBox...
In plain old Linux, I would recommend using Pidgin for text messenging with Yahoo users, and switch to Skype for video-conversations...

I have this scanner (since 2004)... Never managed to make it work in Linux... I have to reboot in winxp to scan
Yesterday I set up a "VirtualBox XP", just so I can scan without a reboot...

Installing msn-pecan worked very well for me... Otherwise, using Emesene sometimes, it is an excellent MSN client...Fornhamfred wrote:Go to synaptic and search for msn-pecan and install it, this may help.

Re: Rhythmbox & podcasts
I was a big fan of Rhythmbox until this version (Ubuntu 8.10/Mint 6)... To me, Rhythmbox was the best media player, period... But now, since Intrepid/Felicia, it crashes all the time for no reason... I had to switch to Exaile, which I don't enjoy as much, but at least it doesn't crash... I am curiou...

You need the Sun version for usb support, add the repo as indicated here:
http://www.virtualbox.org/wiki/Linux_Downloads
Then add your username in the proper group:

-Installing mintfb-default-settings in Felicia Main ed. ???
I now have Mint 6 Felicia (Main ed.) on my desktop. I also have Fluxbox installed, as a secondary WM. I would be interested to install mintfb-default-settings. That is the metapackage of Mint Fluxbox, designed for Mint 5... It is available here: http://packages.linuxmint.com/ -Would that create any ...

Re: 32 bits apps on the new x64 Mint
You shall find out that most apps have a 64bit version in Linux... There is now a native 64bit Flash, as of Java you can use OpenJDK... My only concern is Skype, as it remains the only popular app that is 32bit only, but you can easily install it in Mint64, as it is available in the repos, and the t...
