What a glorious day! I think I fixed it. What I ended up doing was purge pulseaudio, and then reinstall it. Everything seems to be working now :)

I tried removing those lines, and changing it to auto. That actually made things a little worse since the laptop subwoofer did not work. I tried it without any extra lines in there, and the subwoofer works again, but the problem at hand still exists.

I am using a Dell M1710 if it helps any.

I tried that, but it made no difference. I had already made some changes in the file in the past, maybe that is causing it to fail.
