Linux Mint 17.1 and Windows 7/10 Pro
I just ordered a Samsung EVO 500GB SSD and have a few questions. I plan on dualbooting Linux Mint 17.1 and Windows 7, future Windows 10 Pro. If I use the 500GB SSD for both, is it similar setting up to what I did with my 1TB HDD. Linux mint 17.1/Windows 7 with EasyBCD controlling the dualboot. iTB w...

Re: Cinnamon 2 Laggy
Put a Macbook Pro with OSX side by side with a laptop (similar specs) with Mint 15/16 RC and start opening and closing windows and tell me which effects are quicker and smoother. I have and OSX wins hands down. Mint needs to do it better. OSX Mavericks is the standard and Mint Cinnamon needs to stri...

Cinnamon 2 Laggy
Clem, when are the Cinnamon effects going to be smooth and "quick" as OSX or KDE. Whenever I open a folder or application in Cinnamon, the effect always seems laggy. It doesn't flow as nice as OSX or KDE on Linux. This definately needs to be worked on. I am also using a fairly new Nvidia g...

Re: LMDE Suggestion
Although LMDE is based on Debian testing, I find it very stable. I run Wheezy on another box I own and it's very good as well. But what makes you think LMDE is not that stable? To me Cinnamon on top of Jessie works very well. :D By looking at the comments regarding Update Pack 7 and it's breaking a...

Re: when exactly is the kde version of petra due out?
Should be released when the other versions are released. Less than a 9 month support cycle is BS. And with Mint you have already lost a month or so of Ubuntu repo support. Fedora, openSUSE, and Debian give you over a year of support for each release. One reason why Mint needs to move away from Ubunt...

Major KDE Developer Says Goodbye to Ubuntu
Clem what does this mean for Mint KDE edition and Netrunner?. Also tell me Clem if Mint KDE doesn't get released until after Kubuntu, which who knows, may go away, or change bases in the future, than support cycle is less than 9 months. What good is a distro, that many Mint KDE fans love, if it is o...

LMDE Suggestion
Why can't LMDE just be based off of Debian Stable, instead of messing things up with Testing!. Since the Ubuntu version has a poor support cycle for non-LTS releases, LMDE based on Wheezy would be a better option for many. Also since the KDE developers may bee entirely giving up on Ubuntu, thanks to...

Re: New Wallpapers Update for Mint 13
Tell me how to remove them without having to practically remove the whole cinnamon enviroment. Unlike removing other wallpaper packages I went to synaptic and tried to remove the artwork package, and it wants to remove other dependencies. I want these ugly pictures off my system.

New Wallpapers Update for Mint 13
Of all the versions of Mint that I have used. Mint 13 unquestionably has the worst wallpapers, with the exception of the default, Mint Maya/13 that I have seen. Would be nice if clem would give us an update that replaces these outdoor wallpapers, with higher quality images. Things I do not like. Alo...

Re: Mint 13 Cinnamon using wrong sound output device
Same here!. I need to make "Built in Analog Stereo" as my default. But everytime I reboot it goes back to GF104 sound device. Ubuntu 12.04 doesn't have this problem. Is there an application that allows me to set default card with pulse audio, that just works. Or is this a kernel issue. Aft...
