Question - How did you get LM on the "source" USB?
Personally, I would just use the ISO file to make the new USB. Then just copy the files from the the source USB to the new one.
It's quite likely that I don't understand your intentions.

Re: 21.2 update problems - green screen
Green screen on boot. I have this problem as well. Use advanced options to boot into 5.15.0-84-generic to be able to use my machine. I haven't seen anything on the blog yet about this issue. I have 2 computers running Linux Mint 21.2.This one (Minisforum UM350), which ran fine after the update to th...

Re: Mint background gift from a new forum member
The "green" background in the new logo "spins" on my computers, but it still sucks anyway. I like the background offered, thank you and welcome to the forum.

Re: How to remove Mint from dual drive/dual boot setup?
I know it's been a long time since I started this thread, and I haven't done anything else with the machine, but going to give it another go shortly. I'll run Gparted to see which drive has XP and I'll just pull it and see what I wind up with. I also have Linuxlite installed. Not sure which is the b...

Audio issue - onboard sound not recognized.
After installing Mint 18.3 and discovering I did not have sound, I traced the issue to the onboard audio was disabled in bios. I enabled it, but Mint doesn't recognize it. What's my next step to get Mint to recognize the chipset and install the drivers. I am greener than this Mint skin, a newbie rea...

Re: How to remove Mint from dual drive/dual boot setup?
Just to maybe clarify a bit-- I have two drives set up as a dual drive/dual boot, WinXP & LM 18.3 I also have a LM 18.3 set up on another discrete drive in a Mint only arrangement. I would like to pull LM out of the dual drive arrangement leaving WinXP on the original single drive in that box. I...

Re: How to remove Mint from dual drive/dual boot setup?
ARVY: What I am ultimately after is to Install Win 10 on the XP drive in this machine. Then install LM19 on a different, dedicated machine. I do want to somehow retain the access to the old windows programs and data currently residing on the Windows XP drive. Maybe installing in a virtual box in Min...

How to remove Mint from dual drive/dual boot setup?
I started this adventure with a dual drive setup with WinXP on the first drive and installed Linux Mint on the other drive in a dual boot setup. Since doing that and being a relative know nothing (why this thread is being started), I bought a 500GB Seagate HD and removed the 2 other drives from the ...

New again!
I've been a member here quite a long time, but inactive for most of that time. I think the last time I was active I was using, or fumbling around with Mint 13. Some time ago I purchased Mint 18,2 which I am using to write this in firefox browser. Anyway, I'll be trying to get back up to at least sec...

Re: Poll: Desktop environments
I have just installed Mint 13 on two machines. I am using Cinnamon on the machine I am typing this reply (which happens to be booted into WinXP at the moment). I am still looking at which Linux I want to use for the long term. So far, of the distros I've tried, I like Mint the best. I had Mint 12 on...

Please upgrade the kernel to 3.3.6 or higher as the one you are using has a Nvidia graphic card issues. This is an issue with the Ubuntu release as well, this bug is also in the kernel you are using for the Debian release. A huge number of people are affected by this bug. The bug will not allow us ...

Re: Linux Mint 12 "Lisa" RC released!
I am a newbie... so, in that context: I installed Linux Mint 11 on one of my desktops and have been using it a while. I liked it a lot. On that machine, I have Win XP, OpenSuse 11.4 installed in its own partition and Mint installed in its own partition. I have spent a lot more time getting familiar ...
