Re: No arrows on scrollbar

In case anyone is still reading this, I haven't abandoned the idea of trying to figure this out. It's just taking some time as I quickly become frustrated. Knowing nothing about CSS makes this slow going but thanks to bimsebasse and satya164 (the creator of the Minty Cinnamon theme as well as Orion ...

Re: Cinnamon 1.2 released

About the hot corner for the overview: If I recall it was bound to the Windows key in Gnome Shell. I would be in favor of the option to disable the hot corner and assign the overview a key binding in future releases. It seems like this would solve the issue of accidentally invoking the overview by ...

Re: Cinnamon 1.2 released

Rehdon, I've come here to voice most of the same thoughts that you have. Even though I didn't use the work space manager that much in the overview I still made use of it occasionally. I believe some great things can be done with it if it were to be utilized effectively. Having it just show open wind...

[Resolved]Minty Theme

I'm having an issue with the Minty theme in Cinnamon 1.2 that was present in 1.1.3 but managed to resolve itself. This time around it doesn't seem to want to so I'm wondering if someone here might know how. The menu looks like its all jumbled together, too tiny for its own good is the only way I can...

Re: No arrows on scrollbar

I'm trying to investigate this further by reading up on GTK3 theming but it's slow going for me as I've never looked at the insides of a theme before. Once again, if anyone has any tips on where to start it would be appreciated.

Rehdon, I completely agree with you.

Re: No arrows on scrollbar

I see that now, but I've stumbled upon even more confusion. Adwaita seems to give me arrows on all the apps I've used, while another theme, Mint-X only gives me arrows in some like Firefox, pidgin, and smuxi but not in gedit or gnome-terminal. Why would that be? Are there two places that determine i...

Re: No arrows on scrollbar

That's a theme setting and not a bug or error - Mint 12's default theme doesn't have arrows in scrollbar troughs and you see them in e.g. Chromium anyway because some applications, especially browsers, have independent styling to some extent. If you change gtk+ theme to Adwaita (the Gnome 3 default...

No arrows on scrollbar

Hey, using Linux Mint 12 and Cinnamon I seem to be missing the up and down arrows on the scrollbars in some applications like Firefox, Pidgin, Smuxi, gnome-terminal, the trash bin, and others. They do exist in Chromium. I can't tell if it's a theme problem or a gnome 3 problem and I can't figure out...

Re: Cinnamon PPA with Extensions

In my limited experience while Gnome Shell themes do work with Cinnamon, they don't work well, leaving some part un-themed. Reading through the issues for Cinnamon on github Clem seemed to come up with a solution which would at least allow them to be compatible. While Gnome Tweak tool working for Ci...

Re: Linux Mint Wiki

Maybe we should just start an unofficial one and then if Mint decide they want a Wiki again, it can be handed over to the official site? Edit: done :D https://sites.google.com/site/mintwiki/ Now it only needs contents! I like your idea but I'm always a bit worried about non-official things such as ...

Aha! Thank you! I had overlooked that earlier and had /usr/share/icons/Mint-Xtra/Mint-Xtra/ and then all the actual icons in there. I'm not sure how it happened. Many thanks!

Re: Linux Mint Wiki

I have a lot of time on my hands these days and would be willing to lend a hand, albeit I'm not too sure how good that hand might be. The forums are a great resource but with the growing user population, the many, many, different ways of configuring the desktop at the moment (Gnome Shell, Mate, Gnom...

Re: Mint-Xtra - updated icon theme for Mint

Just installed this icon set with Cinnamon, and I'm getting a whole bunch of plain gray icons when viewing directories in Nautilus and Marlin. http://i.imgur.com/LLjUY.png Switching to an icon set that was pre-installed, say, Mint-X fixes this. Any ideas how I can straighten out the icons for direct...

Re: GDM Autologin: change wait time

I can confirm that the unlock button for gdmsetup is broken. There were one or two other reports of it around the forums when I searched last. When I wanted to auto login I searched hard for the config file to do this with and came up with /etc/gdm3/daemon.conf This short section on configuring it m...

lol ... at the blob analogy. :D Just curious who other than ye 2 want this dedicated section ? Might not hurt your cause if you can show there actually is a Minty crowd interested in it ( aka: petition) and/or examples of what would be accomplished there. I mean could help sway the admins here to c...

Debian Cut

A few weeks ago I was reading through some posts on here (somewhere) and came across an idea by Clem to make LMDE slightly more stable by releasing testing updates after a set period of time, after some testing I assume, instead of immediately when they come down the pipe. In this way users could be...

Re: The Floodgates Have Opened

*knocks on wood*

I know I shouldn't say this and I know I will regret it, but was that all?

I had 186 updates or so, all came through without a problem. By the way everyone was talking before the massive amount of updates I thought it would be much worse.

Re: How I Enabled Sharing of a directory via Samba in Nautil

Hi again, I set the usershare directory back to its default state but I was hesitant about adding the lines usershare allow guests=yes to smb.conf. Instead, I added the packages suggested as well as added my user to the groups of fuse and sambashare and I was able to share my entire home directory w...
