I used to be a Mint user back in the days of Celena after trying Ubuntu and finding it too difficult for a complete newbie. Then I moved back to Ubuntu and never felt that Mint had that much more to offer to entice me back. Now with the Debian edition I am back and truly loving it so far. I think th...

I have just installed LinuxMint Debian edition and things were working very well. I use a Brother HL2070N printer on my local ethernet. I installed the linux drivers and then went to localhost:631 to modify the printer with the correct address. The printer is listed but when I try to modify the prin...

Firefox Google Plugin
I used to use Linux Mint, but recently I built a couple of boxes with NVIdia 7025 integrated graphics and I could not figure out how to get the live CD running or to install from it. I ended up installing Ubuntu from the alternate install CD. I would not mind supporting Linux Mint however by using t...

Anf idea for Celena
I second KrazyPenguin's idea and would go further and incorporate the concept that Clem put forth about MintSpace. On Firefox I use the Add-on FoxMarks and all of the browsers on the many and varied computers I use as part of my employment have the same and syncronized bookmarks. I am amazed at the ...

Motel Service
I have come to the conclusion that it is something in the hotel server. This week things are working OK except that it will not let me send email. the guy at the front desk says that the hotel has been simplifying the network, too many wireless users were having problems. Hopefully they will get the...

I found the following material at the avahi.org website, but being a computer networking neophyte, i am not sure what it means: "Avahi and Unicast Domains .local ¶ mDNS/DNS-SD is inherently incompatible with unicast DNS zones .local. We strongly recommend not to use Avahi or nss-mdns in such a...

I just upgraded to Cassandra this week and am now having network problems at the hotel using a wired ethernet connection. I had no problems at the office with a wired connection.
