Same problem Mint 17.2 Mate
If I install a custom pointer it only is used in dome applications and not any system objects.

Re: Controlling where CDROM mounts
I'm hoping for an automagic solution!
Since its already being mounted, seems like I should be able to tell it where?

When I insert a cdrom it automounts(which is GOOD!) and an icon shows up in the GUI file manager(Also GOOD!). I am using scripts to batch convert audio files and would like to control where the cd mounts. Right now it mounts to /run/user/1000/gvfs/cdda\:host\=sr0/ I'd like to mount it to /mnt/cdrom ...

Re: Launcher requiring root doesn't work
Ok, lets be bold, "1" of the applications that will not run in a launcher prefixed by gksudo is backintime-qt4 , but has no problem on the command line. Now interesting your suggestion about the path got me to look at the non-root version which has a launcher with just "backintime-qt4...

Launcher requiring root doesn't work
I have a few gui's that require root access.
If I put "gksudo application " as the command text nothing visible happens.
If I type it on the command-line the application launches as expected with a root login window.

I have a shell script that creates the needed folders and sym links an anacron file in the spool folder but that's not enough for the update manager...

Re: Templates folder not working
Cosmo,
That was perfect! My Libre Office template entry is now displayed in the context menu.
Is there any way to have the default application launched when creating a file like this?
thanks again...

Re: tortoisehg in Caja??
sounds dangerous!
I use Mint because it "usually" provides the freedom for me to use what applications I want to instead of what the distro god says.
In this case it looks like I'm being force fed.....

Re: Compiz install on Mint 16?
I'm no compiz pro, but I would look in your log files, sys and dmesg for clues at to what is happening.
If that doesn't lead anywhere, I would purge compiz and re-install.
