Re: Computer reboots instead of shutting down.

Gives some error related to ieee80211 while shutting down. Does it too fast, can't read.

I'm using LMDE, updated to latest version. I'm using the 3.6-trunk kernel downloaded from packages.debian, but gives the same error with the standard 3.2.0-3 kernel included in LMDE UP5.

Computer reboots instead of shutting down.

Essentially what the subject says. When I try to turn off the computer it reboots instead, even if it explicitly says that it's shutting down.

As written in my signature, my computer is an Asus eee 1225b.

Haven't had this problem with any other computer.

[Solved] Enabling dynamic re-clocking on GPU

So, I'm trying to enable dynamic re-clocking on my GPU using the radeon driver. I changed "/sys/class/drm/card0/device/power_method" from "profile" to "dynpm". It works fine. Only problem is: when I reboot my computer, it defaults back to "profile". How can I ...

[SOLVED] How do I manage startup applications in LMDE?

There used to be a way to do that back in Gnome 2.6.x, how you do that now?

Re: UPDATE PACK 5 FEEDBACK THREAD

http://www.freeimagehosting.net/a543y I just finished installing UP5, and this happened. There are only 2436 packages in the software manager and the window themes are all messed up. Also there's no reduce button, just the close window one. What happened? And how can I fix this? Did you install min...

Re: UPDATE PACK 5 FEEDBACK THREAD

I have the regular LMDE, using the default repository. Today the updater tried to update 1.301 packages, install 150 new ones and remove 21, yet the UP5 hasn't been released yet. What's happening? Update Pack 5 2012.09.17 I thought it wasn't released yet. Should check better next time. They usually...

Re: UPDATE PACK 5 FEEDBACK THREAD

Good thing, it seems, I decided to pick Radeon for my new laptop. Had nothing but problems with Nvidia drivers: free ones were not good enough performance-wise, proprietary ones kept messing up stuff.... Had a GeForce 9500M, now I have a HD 6320. It's good enough even with free drivers, I think I'm...

Re: UPDATE PACK 5 FEEDBACK THREAD

I can understand why everyone is worried about doing a system backup, I have my /home on a separate partition, am I ok? If something screws up can I just format the / partition?

Also, any interesting news for Radeon free drivers?

Overview applet for Cinnamon

Already posted this idea community and they told me to post it in the forum. Move it if this is not the right place. I think an overview applet for the Cinnamon panel would be useful, since if have the overview icon and the panel on the same side of the screen, the icon is covered by the panel and c...

Problem when running a game with Wine

I have this problem when running this game (Diablo II) with Wine 1.5. Game should run full screen, resizing it to 640x480. Problem is: game re-sizes the screen, then close with no apparent reason. Game will run fine if I use the "emulate a virtual desktop" in Wine. I am posting this here b...

Re: Upstart or Systemd, which is better?

Maybe it could be used as default in LMDE, it is good enough.
Should be suggested as idea in the Community.
