I'm creating my own distro. I'm pretty much learning everything on the fly and had a question. Mint is based on Ubuntu which is based on Debian. Am I correct in assuming that, in this case, the mint sources take precedence and default to the Ubuntu packages when no mint alternative is available and ...

CD vs DVD

I was just wondering. If I install from CD, can I download the additional features included in the dvd? Is this made easy, IE there is a package I can download to sorta auto-download/install all of the additional stuff?
