no, ubuntu gnome freezes or crashes too often, thats why i ended up with cinanmon. didnt know mate used any CSD at all, never seen a screenshot or anything from mate with CSD windows

might be easier to install devilspie and gdevilspie from the repositories, gdevilspie gives you a gui for it so you wont have to mess with text files or code at all

downgrading firetray to 0.5.3 seems to have done the trick actually. although its only been about 6 hours. would be very typical if the problem occured again right after i click submit

happens here too on 17.2 cinnamon, started happening just a few days ago, i guess when 38.3.0 was installed. no suspend on this machine. im using firetray btw

solved this on my own by installing kernel 4.2.2 using the guide here http://mintguide.org/system/493-install ... -mint.html

problem gone, and not seen any other ill effects either

i think those dotted lines appear when you're using a gtk theme thats made for another version of gtk than 17.2 uses

you need nemo-terminal installed for this, uninstall it and the terminal is gone.
you can however still have an 'open in terminal' button in nemo if you got to edit>preferences>toolbar

Go to advanced search
