I couldn't agree more but I would suggest to create bootable USB sticks instead of burning discs. I think its faster that way and let you save some persistent files too.

Re: Cinnamon's memory usage

I just notice now that I have the same issue also, I'm running LM12 on Dell Inspiron N7010.
I think more uptime hours makes the memory usage grow even bigger; could be a general memory leak issue?

Re: linux mint 12 grub doesnt detect win7

howdy m8 from the screenshot you posted, i don't think there's any windozed installed probably that's why it goes straight to installation..

but just to make sure, can you run live CD then open the terminal and type "sudo os-prober" ... let us know what are the results.

Re: Linux Mint 12 does not reatart or shutdown

You could try some boot options to see if one solves the problem: https://help.ubuntu.com/community/BootOptions#Common_Kernel_Options Thanks for the reference. It somehow fixed the issue after several shutdown and reboots, the problem never came back. :D What I did was just fixed the Grub using the...

Re: Linux Mint 12 does not reatart or shutdown

I also have installed release 12 of Mint and had the same problems. A normal shutdown was not possible. Didn't even "shutdown -h now" work? In my case, I was able to reboot and shutdown via terminal... I'm not sure with other guys. Anyway, probably there's some issue going when the command was pass...
