Re: Last update cinnamon went wrong

For those of you affected by this issue, and willing to go back to cinnamon 2.4, the following command should do the trick : sudo apt-get install nemo/rebecca nemo-data/rebecca gir1.2-nemo-3.0/rebecca cinnamon-session/rebecca cinnamon-settings-daemon/rebecca gir1.2-cinnamondesktop-3.0/rebecca cinnam...

Re: Change Cinnamon launch shell

Look in Sublime's settings, maybe they allow changing the shell it uses.

Alternatively, since you said you manage to start it the way you want from the command-line, use the menu editor to change sublime's command to what you need.

Re: Group opened files in the bottom bar

There is an alternative windows list applet that does grouping : http://cinnamon-spices.linuxmint.com/applets/view/16
You can install it from the applets section of the system settings.

Re: [Apache2] AH00035: access to / denied

This probably means that one of the parent folders of /home/mrsuchy/Dokumenty/Projekty is missing the permission to list files for the apache user.
In order for this to work, you would need to do a chmod +x for all users on /home, /home/mrsuchy and /home/mrsuchy/Dokumenty.

Re: Would you like LMDE to be based on Stable, not on Testin

Though looking at Cinnamon, which has dependencies on newer Gtk versions that weren't available before Linux Mint 17--I wonder how a newer version would be brought to Debian stable base which probably also has an older Gtk version? Introducing a newer Gtk version to Debian stable would undo what ma...

You mistyped the suggested command, it contains 2 dashes in front of --configure, not just 1 :

Code: Select all

sudo dpkg --configure -a

Re: Is Cinnamon using Muffin or Metacity?

Cinnamon uses muffin, but only as a library. That means the muffin package itself is not needed, only libmuffin is. Metacity is used as a fallback in case cinnamon fails to start (usually due to failing GPU drivers). I'd say it's best you keep things the way they are, ie keep metacity in case someth...

Re: Cinnamon stable PPA unavailable for Ubuntu 12.04?

Personally I dont understand why glebihan took away the ppa and is forcing non mint users of ubuntu to use a unstable ppa. This is ridiculous especially if you want to make a cinnamon spinoff of ubuntu without resorting to mint. This is lame, I mean whats the deal with keeping a unstable ppa while ...

Re: Cinnamon stable PPA (gwendal-lebihan-dev) unavailable?

Keep in mind, glebihan, that Precise still has three more years of life left in it. That's a long time. Even if I decided to keep maintaining the PPA, that would change nothing as far as Precise it concerned. As I mentioned, Cinnamon 2.2 requires gtk >= 3.10 and unless you're going to install gtk3....

Re: Cinnamon stable PPA (gwendal-lebihan-dev) unavailable?

At the moment, I don't know of any other PPA that would provide known stable builds of cinnamon. As of right now, the nightly PPA is fairly stable as we just released Cinnamon 2.2 and are only fixing bugs and not implementing new features. However, in the normal state of things, the nightly PPA is h...

The PPA is indeed going to be closed.

Re: Who can make custom version of mint?

I can understand the disappointment of the original poster. It's fair enough if nobody actually wants to help but pointing to a link to Mint Constructor is not really much use. I tried and gave up with that. I've used mintconstructor more than once and it's always done the job. And since that's the...
