weird. Maybe you need to chmod it to be executable first...

No you don't have to grab another iso, try:

sudo apt-get install xfce4


logout and choose xfce and login again.

Hello from Sweden. Previously I was on Fedora, Ubuntu, Slackware and many moons ago even Red Hat when it was free. Also not to forget Windows 95 and XP. These days Archlinux on one and Lmde on the other. Sheers

Yes it's possible. You can disable that in settings/keyboard and press the tab shortcouts and check out system, just remove the shortkey for ctrl+alt+delete.

Try to uncheck Sync to vblank in compiz settings. It's under openGL. Hope it helps.
