Re: US Federal Judge Rules YOU must divulge your Password

Americas liberties are definitely under heavy fire recently with SOPA and PIPA being proposed, NDAA actually being passed without a hiccup, and a seemingly endless barrage of "wolf in sheeps clothing" type legislation on the horizon.

Re: US Assassin Drones dump Windows shift to Linux Drone Con

Hi and...

Hello, new to Mint, and Linux as a whole (only tried ubuntu &ubuntu studio for a few months previously). I like Mint, the layout is very nice and performance is great too. I am a musician, I mostly make music/sound in the digital environment now (though I do enjoy drumming and playing sax for fun st...

Re: Data recovery

So far this is the only "non intrusive" program that has been able to show me anything other than linux and disk utility saying its a 700GB empty partition, this shows two 700GB partitions. So maybe the filesystem is just messed up so it doesnt know where to find the files because they were in the p...

Data recovery

I had a bit of a mishap, I was resizing a partition and the power went out in the middle of the resizing process (using gparted) which in turn messed up the file system so I couldnt even access the drive, tried testdisk and photorec and all I have been able to get so far is access to the drive, trou...

Re: Cannot load grub! :(

I have 4 installed. I solved this though.. probably not in a technically sound fashion but its solved all the same. I simply made a small partition on the old drive i hooked up with windows, installed ubuntu on that drive which installed a new grub bootloader on dev/sda, and it found all operating s...

Problems with Chrome inLM 12 RC

The last few days I have been having problems with Google Chrome becoming unresponsive and killing the page, chrome tells me I am out of memory. If I got to the system monitor/resources it tells me I am only using 630 MiB (7.7%) of 7.8 GiB and 0 bytes (0%) of my swap is being used (swap is 4GB). I d...

Re: Can there be too many OS?

Ok, this has been very helpful! Thank you! I installed a new grub when I installed mint (actually twice because i changed filesystem/partition config and re-installed mint). I haven't had any problems except now it says I have 3 Ubuntu installations, the windows installs, and Mint install, when I am...

[Solved] Can there be too many OS?

I have kind of a simple question. I am pretty new to Linux (3 months) and I first installed Ubuntu 11.10, now I am trying Mint, and want to try out more distros, I am just curious if there can be too many OS's installed on my system? Currently I have Windows Vista, and Windows 7, and Ubuntu installe...
